I've been playing online with friends since social distancing is still a thing. We've added the Avrea bot to our discord server to speed up our game and it's pretty nice so far but for one issue that's been driving me crazy for hours, how can I use this dadgum bot to keep track of my sorcery points and their abilities? If I want to cast a twin spell or burn sorc points to get back a spell slot what is the command I use for that? I've run out of patience searching for it on Google and on the bot's help pages!
Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Avrae doesn't have built in support for sorcerer powers but I did manage to program a simple alias that can do font of magic. As I get better with the programming language I'll refine it.
Hi! I recommend you use Anirien's code to use Convert Sorcery Points to spells and use !cc sourcery [value] to modify your current sorcery points in general. For example, want to burn a couple of sorcery points for anything? just type !cc sourcery -2 and you're set. Hope this helps!
Personally I went for a simpler option and use the following alias:
!alias sorcery cc "Sorcery Points" mod
(change !alias to !servalias if you're the server admin and want others to use this too).
Basically this then lets you modify your sorcery points like so:
!sorcery -2
!sorcery -1
!sorcery +3
To modify my spell slots I use this alias:
!alias spells game spellslot
So all I have to do is:
!spells 2 +1
!spells 1 -1
And so on (first number is level of slot, second is number of slots of that level to add/remove, so the first example gives you back a second level slot, while the second example removes a first level slot). For both aliases you need to make sure to include the plus/minus or Avrae might not do what you expect.
The !spells alias is just a generally handy short form for dealing with common issues like casting a spell at the wrong level and wanting the slot back etc., which is why I prefer to just keep the sorcery points command nice and simple as well. It means for spell slot juggling you need to run the two commands (to modify the slot(s) then add/subtract points) but it works for me.
Of course this way you need to know what spell slots cost to purchase, but if you're using D&D Beyond just tapping the Font of Magic feature should give you the costs in the sidebar/popout.

I dont think that Avrae will do that for you.

I built the alias that not only adds the spell slot but also removes the sorcery points:
!alias csp multiline
!g spellslot %1% +1
!cc sourcery -<drac2>
sorceryPointCost = [2, 3, 5, 6, 7]
return sorceryPointCost[%1% - 1]
</drac2>
csp for Convert Sorcery Points
pass the level of spell you want to recover, for example "csp 2" will give you back a spell slot level 2 and remove 3 sorcery points
Hope it helps!

What command do i use to convert? like ive already added the alias but i'm lost on how to execute in game.

You just use !csp (level of spell slot desired)
how do i go in the reverse direction using the spells to get the points back?
