All patron types have their merits. But I'm a huge fan of Fiend for the expanded spell list, and their initial patron ability. Getting those temporary hitpoints per kill and the having Burning Hands at level 1, with Fireball online at level 5 is a nice deal.
Mechanically, Hexblade is usually considered the top tier for Warlocks. Even if you don't choose to focus on melee combat, you still get access to armor and shields to boost your AC, and Hexblade's Curse, which is basically a concentration-free super-Hex, on top of a pretty solid expanded spell list.
Out of those I'd say mechanically hexblade is, though fiend isn't a slouch. Neither of them have dud subclass features at any level. Hexblade gets a bit more at level 1, after that its pretty even. Out of all the sub classes I'd say either of the tashas are up in the rankings for potential best as well.
My personal favorite is Celestial. Sure its not as powerful as some of the other options but being able to play a 'Cleric' or 'Paladin' without actually being one is quite fun.
I like Hexblade because I really like Gish builds and Hexblade is arguably the best (Bladesinger is the other, but it's much better off casting spells than fighting in melee because it's a wizard).
Celestial Tomelock is my second favourite. It offers some Cleric like features while still being a Warlock.
I suspect party composition also factors in as well. In my case, we needed a Blastlock, as we have a surplus of tanks. I like being able to churn out steady damage with EB, and the temporary HP's from a fiend patron as been huge from levels 1-7.
Side note: This is not saying which is the best one but i just wanna know

Undead pretty much rocks...

Another factor is level of playing:
If your playing a lot level 14+, Genie rocks. Limited Wish is super duper, even with it‘s long cool off phase.
Below level 9 fiend is probably best.
I think a lot depends on the level 5 spells on the expanded spell list in the middle.
