Would allowing a player to swap 1 or all invocations on a long rest be a good idea or to OP? I'm considering allowing a player to do this. I've played a couple warlocks and I LOVE the theme and RP potential but I personally always feel like they are very limited and need something extra. So swapping invocations at a long rest seems to me like a good idea to keep the theme and general mechanics intact and add the extra that the class needs to be on par with the other primary caster classes. Thoughts?
I suspect that'll be the standard in OneDND, based on the fact that all casters are becoming prepared casters.
It's not overpowered, because players will almost always be choosing the strongest options for their characters as default, for example a Hexblade will be taking Thirsting Blade, Improved Pact Weapon, and Lifedrinker. Allowing changing invocations means that on days when they don't expect to be fighting they might swap those out for Beguiling Influence and Mask of Many Faces.
It means that weaker/more specific invocations might be tried out more often because the player knows that they're not committed to them, and if they don't work out they can just swap them out after a long rest.
