I'm making Warlock for one of my group's games, and could use a little help making some smart choices. We're starting at 3rd level. So far, I've decided I'm making a tiefling using the winged variant from SCAG. In reality he is a half demon, we are just using the tiefling for his stats and baseline abilities. Also, he's using the Fiend pact. His story is that he was raised in the church of one of the worlds' deities, and is thus a bit of a religious zealot (he has the acolyte background). Part of his weirdness is that he doesn't have an actual patron; instead, he is manifesting his own demonic powers. Also, I am pretty sure that I'm going to go with the Pact of the Tome feature.
My question here is what spells/cantrips and invocations should I look at? The only things I've completely decided on is Eldritch Blast (cantrip), Hex (spell), and Agonizing Blast (invocation). I'm pretty sure I want to pick up the Book of Ancient Secrets invocation, I'm just not sure I want it immediately. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!
Edit: the party consists of a barbarian (zealot), monk (way of the sun soul, SCAG), and a Paladin (oath of vengeance). I'm going for primarily a ranged damage dealer with some decent utility options.
If you want to get the most out of eldritch blast, get the Invocations Eldritch Spear, Frost Lance, and either Repelling Blast or Grasp of Hadar. You might also want Kiss of Mephistopheles or Maddening Hex.

The patron is a pretty big component of the Warlock class identity. Have you considered the Sorcerer instead? Re-skinning the Draconic bloodline to Demonic is mostly trivial.
Invocations: Agonizing Blast, Book of Ancient Secrets (with Find Familiar and Comprehend Languages as my two rituals, and picking up Identify as a third ritual thanks to the DM being generous)
I'm looking at taking a level in Favored Soul sorcerer when I hit 4th level to bring home the "priest" nature of the character and give me the ability to cast Cure Wounds for our group since we don't have a real healer, and I don't mind filling the role a bit. Also, 4 sorcerer/cleric cantrips won't hurt my feelings even a little. Also, once I hit 5th level of Warlock, I'm switching Scorching Ray to Darkness and probably taking the Kiss of Mephistopheles invocation. It looks way too fun!

Darkness, crown of madness, devil's sight are all good options.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
So, after a little research, I went with this:
Cantrips: Eldritch Blast, Green-flame Blade, Sacred Flame, Shillelagh, and Shocking Grasp
1st Level Spells: Hex, Command
2nd Level Spells: Invisibility, Scorching Ray
Invocations: Agonizing Blast, Book of Ancient Secrets (with Find Familiar and Comprehend Languages as my two rituals, and picking up Identify as a third ritual thanks to the DM being generous)
