Actually, I wanted to run my character's origin to see what people think:
My character was born with difficult to control power so to control it he apprenticed himself to a witch. The witch ended up enslaving his mind and controlling him for 8 years. One day the Celestial Serephina came to him and said that she could give him the power to free himself from the witch's thrall. In return for a bunch of artifacts.
I can give more details if anyone's interested.
Normally, being born with powers means you are a Sorcerer.
Maybe he is a race that has innate magic in him? Like an assimar or maybe a tiefling?
@sfPanzer Fair point.
@Layomayo I did consider that. When I tried to program the stuff into D&D Beyond, I kept getting doubles of spells (Light for example).
Zariel tiefling that is a fiend patron. His patron is literally just his mom. Pact of the Chain, familiar is imp, Zariel is just like, "watch him, make sure he doesn't die."
My warlock was brutally murdered by his father and resurected by Asmodeus (the Fiend). In exchange for his life, they brokered a deal which involved the warlock working Asmodeus's will in the world. He sees his companions as tools to that end.

I'm currently playing an Aasimar Celestial Warlock, Aasimar have a Angel Guide as explained in Volo's Guide. My Aasimar entered into a Pact with their Angelic Guide, which is a Solar, because my Warlock never knew his mother. My Warlock's Patron said that he would help my Warlock find his mother in return for carrying out orders given by the patron.
My current warlock has a Celestial patron. He is a human that fell in love with a halfling, or so he thought. He is obsessed with her and tells everyone he meets how amazing his girlfriend is. He recently learned that she is a demigod that just wanted to keep him safe so she gave him powers. She is the daughter of the goddess of love and hopes that by giving her boyfriend powers that she will be able to ascend to godhood.
I have an idea for a dragonborn genie warlock (Efreeti). His patron could be a gold dragon who has empowered him so that he can go out into the world to collect a hoard, which would be an extension of the Gold dragons hoard so both of them get to satisfy their dragon greed and gain power by collecting valuable items.
Archfey warlock idea. There was an invasion from an unknown realm that was affecting both the mortal realm and the feywilds. The damage dealt in either would affect the other. One day my detective halfling tracked a group of fiends into the fey wilds and saves a young faun from them, but finds himself over his head as, while he was able to help the faun escape he put himself in danger. Saved at the last moment by the lady of the land.
Having shown my bravery by saving one of her daughters she made a deal with me. She would teach me the strange techniques of fey magic and in return my task is to discover the fiendish plot threatening our realms and put a stop to it. (A more neutral version not based on that particular game would be a pact to defend the entrances to the fey wilds and make sure places of natural beauty in the mortal realm remain.)
While this does put the character on the hook, the thing they are doing was already within their interest to do and the power they gain simply helps them do it better.
Just started playing a Warforged Genie (Dao) Warlock. He is a Golem created by the Dao to show off how great of a crafter she is. He has been tasked to go out into the world and do awesome stuff so she can take credit for building him.
My current warlock is a Tabaxi with a pact with Nathair Sgiathach, god of pseudodragons and faerie dragons and a member of Queen Titania's Seelie Court, that my DM allow as an Archfey Patron.
Nathair adored the faerie folk and is very playful, a quality usually enjoyed by the fey, but he was so frivolous and flippant about even serious matters that even the other members of the Seelie Court could not tolerate all of his shenanigans and behaviors. He acted pretentious when meeting new beings—such as by exaggerating the pronunciation of his name—but only as a game, and was more of a jester than an advisor.
Nathair would willingly defend faeries in need. Typically, he would attempt to drive off or humiliate enemies rather than kill them. While he wasn't shy about fighting if he needed to, he much preferred to resolve conflict with jokes and pranks, even those at his own expense. He loved juvenile practical jokes. A favorite gag was using magical illusions to cause the buttocks of humans to radiate red light and start singing.
Nathair Sgiathach loved eating apple pie, but he was quite picky about them.
My tabaxi is kinda the same, a very playful young cat that tries to see the good in every person, even cultist. Long story short he saved me from a bad situation, after a joke to an archmage went to far, I guess making origami with his books wasn't a good idea after he offended my race calling us "pets" and now I'm on the quest to find the best apple pie recepie in the world... and in the meantime we try to save it from bad evil guys...
there is my character marin gravely a maridlock who is engaged to their patron in a buisnessy way. she just did standard shennaniganary and ended up enngaged
