I am trying to find some help on converting the prestige warlock class into a subclass for the warlock. I am already aware that the fiendlock is close to it but i want to get the subclass as close to the older version and still balanced. I plan on using the fiend as the template but i am in need of assistance in mainly figuring out how to power it down to being able to be started at first level since prestige classes usually happened at later levels.
I couldn't find the book Hellfire Warlock was in so I've pieced the following together from what I could find online...
Lvl 1: Hellfire Blast. You can channel Hellfire into your eldritch blast and change the damage dealt Force damage to Fire and Necrotic damge. Doing so changes the damage type from 1d10 Force damage per beam to 1d6 Fire damage AND 1d6 Necrotic damage per beam. Creatures hit by your Hellfire Blasts cannot regain Hit Points until the start of your next turn. Any Invocations which might augment your Eldritch Blast can be aplied to your Hellfire Blast as long as they do not change the damage the blasts inflicts.
EDIT: if using agonising blast, before rolling damage for a successful attack, choose whether the bonus damage granted by the invocation will be all fire damage or all necrotic damage.
Lvl 6: Hellfire Rebuke. When you are hit with a melee attack you can use your reaction to cause a blast of retributive Hellfire to strike your attacker. Your attacker must make a Dexterity Saving Throw (vs your spell DC) taking 2d6 Fire damage and 2d6 Necrotic Damage on a failed save and half as much on a successful save. You can use this ability once per Short Rest.
Lvl 10: Bathed in Hellfire. You gain resistance to Fire and Necrotic damage.
Lvl 14.: Cast into the Flames: Functions as per the Fiend Patron ability Hurl through Hell but deals 5d6 Fire damage and 5d6 Necrotic damage to the target.
**my notes on reasoning this out**
Hellfire blast is basically a combo of Eldritch Blast with a little bit of Fire Bolt and Chill Touch added on, effectively losing a seldom resisted damge type and inflicting two more easily resisted type but it gives you the ability to stop regenerating creatures whilst retaining the multiple blasts.
Hellfire Rebuke is effectively a free level 2 Hellish Rebuke again with the change in damage types.
Bathed in Hellfire because you should be resistant to your own attacks, Hellfire is nasty stuff.
Cast intot eh Flames, not going to lie, I was stuck for something.
You could also tweak this to Hell Rime damage which would be a combo of Cold and Necrotic which might be a bit more thematic for some Patrons.
Not sure about how to covert that one, having a look at it it does consitution damage to the warlock for utilising hellfire attacks...having said that I did find this which maybe a bit closer than my idea :

That seems pretty close. The old hellfire was prestige so converting would be difficult i like that find thanks!
