Mewtwo is a very interesting character, but of all the subclasses for Wizard, I believe that Abjuration fits him the best. He's constantly shielding himself from attack while shutting down the powers of others. Sounds like a good use of the Ward feature and with the added proficiency to spellcasting checks, you can dispel and counter people for days.
I wouldn't recommend the Telekinetic Feat. I sounds like it would be good, but honestly it lacks real use. Instead I would try to get a Ring of Telekinesis to throw items and objects, and then cast Telekinesis when you want to pick up and throw creatures or take items away from others.
Telepathic Feat would be good to get the mind talking thing going and a free Detect Thoughts. Getting Metamagic Adept for Distant Spell so you can increase the range of Telekinesis.
That's about it for me. I am curious what other ideas people may have.
if you are for whatever strange reason wanting to play mewtwo as a dnd character (a bad idea, there are entire other tabletop roleplaying games specifically for playing in the world of pokemon like Pokemon Tabletop United, you could just play one of those) then they ought not be a tabaxi since none of the features tabaxi have work with mewtwo, they are not particularly capable of bursts of speed, mewtwo does not have claws and when they do fight physically (Mewtwo X) they specifically use fists to do so. Races that could work slightly better to represent this pokemon might for instance be the Kalashtar from ebberon who get telepathy and resistance to psychic damage and general resillience to mental attacks or perhaps warforged or even one of the unearthed arcana Linneage options.
Also the abillities of an abberant mind sorcerer would be more appropriate to represent the things mewtwo can do, especially since mewtwo does not have to prepare spells from a spellbook the way wizards need to do
as for how to represent mega evolutions, well if you want to play one that can mega-evolve (something that is typically impossible for a pokemon without a trainer to do but one of the movies made an exception for mewtwo specifically so who cares) you might do so with a spell such as tenser's transformation or Tasha's otherworldly guise
If you wanna be like one of the mega evolutions all the time well Mewtwo Y is literally just regular mewtwo but with a weirder looking head but Mewtwo X on the other hand is a fighting type pokemon that uses punches to attack. This could be done using the unarmed fighting fighting style being put on any old martial character, or by simply playing as a monk with the telepathic and telekinetic feats.
