I have a MOTM Shadar Kai Bladesinger/Cavalier and thinking about feat or ASI at level 10 (bladesinger 6/Cavalier 4) for boosting intelligence to 18.
Her current stats are S19 D18 C12 I17 W11 Ch10, she already has the shadow touched feat.
In this game it needs to be thematic so nothing like Gift of Gem Dragon.
She does not get advantage very often, so I am not really interested in Elven Accuracy. I am thinking about:
Fey Touched (she is an elf so this works thematically). She gets essentially 3 misty steps a day with blessing of the Raven queen already, having a free one and more available on 2nd level slots means she could almost do this at will. I would probably get Hex with it as an enchantment.
Skill Expert - Pick up proficiency either athletics or acobatics (currently proficient in niether) with expertise in either one of those or stealth.
Observant - +5 to passive perception (I already am proficient)
Telekenetic - free mage hand, some forced movement.
All options seem pretty good to me. So if it were my choice then I would either pick the ASI of Strength and Intelligence (assuming Strength weapon) or a feat that fits the character thematically.
Feats are a nice way to help define the character a bit. So for example with Skill Expert, why would she be exceptional in one of the skills? With Fey Touched, what would make that she is both Shadow and Fey touched? Considering that the Shadowfell and Feywild are opposites.
If you use a Strength weapon a lot, then the ASI will give you a ton of benefits: Better AC and concentration checks from Bladesong Better hit chance with weapons Better average damage with weapons 1 more spell prepared Increased hit chance with spells due to increased DC and to hit multiplier
If you pick Fey Touched, then I would personally not go for Hex as the extra spell. It uses a bonus action and uses concentration. Both of which you could potentially have better uses for, meaning you won't use it very often. Ofcourse if it fits the character really well, then ignore advice and go go go :P
