It's a good combo so long as you make sure your rope is short enough to stay inside the area of the spell. You can disappear as soon as your LTH does. Very situational though as unintelliegent wandering enemies won't hangout and wait for you in the bubble. And intelligent enemies that decide to wait for you in ambush are usually going to be attacked by your party using the LTH to their tactical combat advantage (usually killing the enemy before retreat is an issue.)
I can see this trick being effective when you know an enemy with Dispell magic is inbound.
The real question is what happens if you cast LTH inside of LTH and both spells expire?

If one used Rope Trick to make a loft with in LTH would the hut end if the caster went up in there?
Been playing D&D since 1981's Moldvay edition!
I'd say the Hut ends as the caster has gone to another dimension and effectively moved out of the Hut's area
