ok so i am playing a warlock in my current lomp campaign and i had been thinking that what i want my warlock to have different types of spells both for dmg utitilty teleportation and i noticed that i should have just used a wizard instead so my questions are do wizards have good cantrips with variety damage and stuff u know. do wizards get a lot of spells and cantrips and just tell me the difference between the spell casting of warlock and wizard do wizards have cool features like eldritch invos and stuff what are thier specialties and do wizards get enough spell slots to have a proper long battle
Wizards get a lot of options for both spells and cantrips. While they (arguably) don't have any combat cantrips as good as eldritch blast, they have a ton of variety. Seriously, the wizard spell list is huge. Wizards also get to learn a lot more spells than warlocks, and they have way more spell slots to cast with.
The difference between warlocks and wizards is that warlocks have a few spell slots, but they're all the highest level (up to 5). Wizards have way more, but each slot is a different level. For instance, a level 5 warlock has 2 3rd level slots, while a level 5 wizard has 4 1st, 3 2nd, and 2 3rd level slots. Warlocks get invocations, which wizards don't. Warlocks get all of their spells back after a short rest, but wizards get them back after a long rest. Warlocks also don't get 6th level spells - they get Mystic Arcanums, while wizards just get 6th level spells. You probably won't have to worry about that for a while.
Wizards can last longer than warlocks with spell slots, but eldritch blast is wicked when you run out of slots. Wizards have more variety, but they don't get invocations or pact boons or the like.
Also, when building a Warlock you have to specialize a lot. All sorts of permanent options you have to decide and only some of them are changeable later (Patron, Invocations, Pact, Feats, etc.). Spells also are hard to change.
Wizards have only Subclass and feats (even cantrips can now be changed via the UA options). Spells can be switched out every day - you can use a bunch of different builds each day. City = Charm Person, Wilderness = fireball, Caves = Transmute Rock to Mud, Mountains = fly and feather fall.
This makes a Warlock fairly specialized. You pick what you want to do and get very good at it. Wizards will never be quite as good at those things, but they can choose to re-design their character every morning.
I love playing both classes, but I love a warlock slightly more than a wizard. Warlocks tend to be cantrip casters with a bunch of special abilities and a couple of spells. Wizards are full spell caster who do everything and anything by casting spells. They mostly get more spells instead of the invocations, etc. that warlocks get.
I would happily switch back and forth between both classes if I wasn’t the DM all of the time. 🙂
You can't learn eldritch blast through a scroll, as it's not on the wizard spell list. You can, however, take the Magic Initiate - Warlock feat and then cast it.

Also, if you were thinking of multiclassing into wizard, you'd still be able to cast eldritch blast through your warlock levels.
Wizard does have a lot of cool cantrips, though. Fire bolt, ray of frost, acid splash, chill touch, and toll the dead are some good damaging ones. There are also some great non-combat cantrips. Eldritch blast is still special, though.
