As a DM, there are times I like to reward a longterm goal being achieved by granting a character a feat. In a game I am in we all got an additional feat at level 10. Would we be able to add Feats to our characters, similar to how we are able to add items, without requiring an ability score improvement?
Currently you're not able to do this, though it is in the pipeline!
As a workaround, if the character has previously chosen extra stats, instead of a feat, they could edit the character to choose the feat instead, then manually amend the stats back to their correct (higher) level. This is a workaround though and there will be a full way of adding such things to characters, hopefully soon.
I saw there was a public facing pipeline for plans during beta, is there a current place we can see what is planned for features and updates?
The best way to discover what the upcoming features are likely to be, as well as being able to ask about them yourself, is the fireside chat with BadEye (the D&D Beyond product manager).
There should be a thread going up for the new, upcoming stream, soon.
I've been following the Developer Updates through & Beyond. They have mentioned that they are going to be rolling out a new character sheet that will support more flexibility on the back-end. Rewarding feats like this is something that would be supported (if not immediately, very soon following the release of the new update). Now to just wait for the update!

Actually, yes! Kind of.
