How come when I try to add a modifier to make a magic shield add +3 AC instead of +2 it doesn't automatically work? I can manually force the system to add a +1 to "make" it work. However, when my player unequips the shield, I then have to manually remove the +1 from their AC. When I used the exact same method that SHOULD work, I made it a wonderous item instead of a shield, and suddenly it works as intended.
All shields automatically add +2 to AC, so your magic bonus should only be "in addition to" that 2, never "instead of".

What gives?
Modifier Type: Bonus
Modifier Sub-Type: Armor Class
Fixed Value: 1

Or just make a copy of Shield, +1.
