I have a subscription so I can make unlimited character sheets. I bought books I already own on DnD beyond just so I could have the items for said character sheets. But, now I can't even make a character the traditional way using the traditional rules. There needs to be a way to toggle the 2024 rules off completely so I can make characters using the 2014 ruleset. I have no use for the 2024 rules. I will not purchase them. I will not convert to them. I will not play them. I'd rather go back to 2nd edition. I like the 2014 ruleset just fine. I'm old and don't have time to change. Please add a toggle or your service becomes useless to me.
I have the new book and use it with my group since I wanted to see how it works out compared to older edition but I also play in three groups where the GM straightout said they don't plan to move to the new rules at least not mid campaign so now I have to double check every class, skill, feat etc. I pick to make sure I'm using the correct 2014 rules when instead I could just have a simple toggle to turn them off and hide them.
That would also declutter the spell selection where I now have two copies of almost every goddamn spell. I don't think that's unreasonable thing to ask for, I'd even consider it as a basic accessibility feature really since this is making the whole character creation process harder and more messy.
Please, this is needed in the worst way. I have a subscription and I'm running a game using the 2014 ruleset where I own a lot of books to open up options for my players and I simply don't have the money to invest in more books now, digital or otherwise, so we must stick to the 2014 ruleset for this campaign. We're doing Curse of Strahd and are only beginning content in Vallaki, so we have a long way to go and the absolute jumble of combined ruleset options is ridiculous to wade through.
I think the whole reason people like me subscribe to DnD Beyond is for the character sheet convenience. We buy the books on here even though we own physical copies, for convenience. If I’m trying to build a rogue and I can’t expertise in thief’s tools due to the 2024 update that I’m not using, or all of these 2024 options are taking up space and confusing people at my table, the convenience is lost. Seriously, just put a toggle on the character creator. Legacy ruleset or 2024 ruleset. If I toggle to legacy, DnD beyond functions exactly like it did a month or two ago. If I toggle it to 2024 ruleset, it switches to the new style. you’re not encouraging us to buy and use the 2024 rules. You’re encouraging us to find a new service for convenience or encouraging us to go back to pen and paper. We don’t need DnD beyond to play our game. We want it for the convenience it adds. Without the ability to toggle the 2024 rules OFF, DnD Beyond loses its value to people like me. I’ve already canceled my subscription until this is resolved which I truly hope it is. Otherwise, even if I do decide to use the 2024 rules down the road, I wouldn’t use DnD Beyond for fear that they’ll stop supporting the way I play when the next ruleset comes out.

+1 to this.
