I’d like to offer the following suggestions to make the very helpful Encounter tool better:
Adding Creatures mid-combat - Often the players will be mid-combat and someone conjures a creature/familiar/guardian, or they make so much noise a creature from a different encounter comes running. The tool lets me add them manually, but I see no way to select from available monsters (either from books or my Homebrew) so on-the-fly with players around the table I have to stop and enter their info (HP, AC, etc.) and then look up their capabilities and attacks. It would be a big improvement if I could select from lists, like I do when I set up the Encounter.
As I assume many people do, in the days before a one-shot game, I’ll create the encounters with the bad guys. And, I add placeholder Characters with levels to check the calculated difficulty. All of that is fine, but of course until Game Day, I dont really have each player’s character sheet in the Campaign. So, when everyone arrives, while they are sitting at the table, I have to open each Encounter, delete the placeholders, and then add the Characters, then resave. It would be very helpful if a) I could click a button to “start” the campaign for the day and have it install the players into all the Encounters, or b) for each precreated encounter there would be a button where I could swap out placeholders (if any) with the Characters who are now in the Campaign. This might not be as necessary for a long running campaign, but even for those, since it seems likely that some players are different game to game (e.g. someone was sick and was written out of the story that evening) a bunch of manual opening and editing could be avoided.
It would also be nice if they also had a 2024 version, so we could use it to calculate difficulty of the new 5e2024 rules. Currently that's only available if you use the Maps App (which our group isn't likely to ever do, as we use another VTT and it would be too difficult to transfer everything over, and let's face it - Maps just isn't good enough yet).
Seems like a wasted opportunity to provide something that everyone could use, instead of restricting it to only users of Maps.

Hopefully these find an interested audience.

Playing D&D since 1982
Have played every version of the game since Basic (Red Box Set), except that abomination sometimes called 4e.
