We know an Encounter Builder is coming. I'd like to get a discussion going of what would be helpful to have in one.
1) The option to print out the statblocks of all monsters with a tickbox for "print all spells/status conditions (poison/exhaust/stun)" that are used by those monsters.
2) Encounter metrics. This may be a bit much, but an "info box" that would show
average damage the monsters will do in a round
max damage the monsters can do in a round (non-crits and crits)
the coverage of damage types by the monsters (if they do slashing/piercing/fire)
the # of monsters that have weakness or resistance to a damage type
I think it would help some DMs eyeball "oh, wow, 6 kobolds can actually do a lot of damage" or "man, one fireball by the wizard would wipe all these creatures out and I didn't realize it"
I can definitely see the usefulness of printing out monster stats. And being able to toggle spell descriptions vs list only would be helpful.
I'd like the encounter builder to let you create multiple groups of monsters, lable group and change monster names, add notes to indiviual monsters and the whole encounter group, have the same customization options that character creatures have, and total the exp of the encounter.
Side note, I don't know what kobolds you were using, I sent 6 kobolds at my party of 4 level 1 characters, kobolds dead in 2 turns, players took 0 damage. It was a massacre.

Ooh, a notebox for monster groups would be great. Adding something like "Reminder, if X dies, the rest run away" and total XP of encounter is good.
My kobold example was just pulled out of a hat. It would just be neat to have some rough numbers on hand for monster damage output.
