Anyone updates the custom background to contain FR origin feats (not locked to Background)
The Custom Background option on the character sheet is there to facilitate the rules from the 2014 PHB. Those rules do not include a feat of any kind.
If you do choose Custom Background, though, you can manually add a feat of your choice by going to Features & Traits > Manage Feats.
Or, and hear me out here, y'all make a 2024 Custom Background option.
I know... crazy, right?
Custom backgrounds are a DM power in 2024, not a player one.
So are magic items, and yet I can still effortlessly add them to my character sheets.
This is a lame excuse for not implementing the feature. Worst case, make a toggle switch allowing or disallowing. But I doubt many would not want this option be easy to exist... and be easy to use.

Custom magic items are in DM territory and also have to go through homebrew. It's equivalent to what's being discussed here if you want to bring up magic items.
In DDBeyond there is a Homebrew Custom background that has the PHB Origin feats.
I am asking about an updated one with FR feats.
All 2024 Custom Origin making is no longer a player-facing option. You either either make a 2014 custom Origin option & add flavor text saying that you give yourself the origin feat you want, select the appropriate feat you're trying to get the active version of, then add the feat once the character is otherwise done...or accept the official rule & don't mess with it..
&, for the record, players shouldn't so easily get magic items on here. DMs should exclusively control the flow of those in campaigns. & yes, I'm well aware that this would mess with Beyond20 users.

By your own logic, you can build your own Homebrew Background, and give it whatever feat you want. Problem solved. If you're "effortlessly" adding magic items to your sheet without your DM's approval, I'd have... questions.
Complaining that custom backgrounds should be up to the DM misses why and how many people actually use dndbeyond's sheets.
There's plenty of people who play the game somewhere else (like Roll20 or IRL), but build their sheet on dndbeyond. In other words, there is no campaign and no DM on dndbeyond. It is also a reasonably common house rule to just let player pick any origin feat and any ASIs they want.
I think the best way to handle this might be to add a toggle on the Character Preferences page indicating whether or not custom backgrounds are used on that particular character.

Some of us have jobs, family, and other duties, responsibilities, and such, and cannot spend every moment we desire playing a game and tinkering with its mechanics, much less homebrewing things. [REDACTED]
I pay money for this service, and I want it to be as easy for me to enjoy my hobby as possible.
As for effortless magic item adding, yeah when I get something in game I better be able to add it to my DND Beyond character sheet here as comparably effortlessly as I could write it down on a piece of paper character sheet. [REDACTED]
A lot of tinkering? Here's a guide to get exactly what you want from what already is there.
Step 1:Start character creation Step 2:Choose 2014 Custom Background Step 3:Add filler text saying you get the feat(That you qualify for) of your choice, & select the unsupported 2024 feat which you want in the section for what active feature you want or its closest equivalent Step 4:Fill out the character sheet as normal Step 5:Add the feat once the non-fluff parts of the sheet is done

It takes about 5-10 minutes maximum for a custom background and that's really only if you want flavour text. All of my players built their own backgrounds themselves.

If you're desperate to not do the work yourself, you could ask this creator to make a new version of their 2024 Custom Background Homebrew: https://www.dndbeyond.com/backgrounds/407050-custom-2024-background
