just wanted to drop some feedback that when you take the death house map and try to put it on a 1inch by 1inch grid (aka use it for its intended purpose) the fact that the provided "hi res" image is only 96 DPI leads to... well incredibly bad image quality.
am i doing something wrong? is there another way for me to find the hi res maps aside form click on them to open the image viewer, then right clicking and going "open image in new tab" for a fresh reload.. then saving to disk?
i had asked on twitter last night if there was hi res maps for use on systems like roll20, and was told "yes they exist!" i was wieghing the option of buying the roll20 version of curse of strahd vs. your version. considering all the other products i picked up yesterday it seemed like a good idea after the promise of usable maps. really hoping we can fix my issue!
Many (most? all?) of the other maps are much higher resolution than the Death House map. I know that there was an error earlier on and several of the maps were uploaded in the incorrect size; it's possible that the Death House map is one of those and it hasn't been fixed yet. Alternatively, it could be that there *isn't* a higher resolution version of the Death House map available (meaning the artist never released a higher resolution than the one you're seeing), but I don't know for sure - I've avoided looking much at Curse of Strahd because it's one of the very few published D&D campaigns that I'd actually like to be a player in rather than a DM.
Also, minor point regarding using the maps available with D&D Beyond with a virtual tabletop: They *are not* appropriate for that use because the maps available with a D&D Beyond purchase are the *labeled*, GM versions of those maps; you don't get unlabeled, player versions of the maps. I believe the Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds versions of the purchases do get unlabeled maps.
Did you right click on the light box? If you click on an image in an adventure, it pops up a lightbox to slide through the images available to that adventure. Then you can right-click and open in a new window and it takes you to a huge version of the image.
Just a side note on this, on PC the right-click worked ok on the few maps I tried to get a large version, but on an iPad there didn't seem to be a way to call up the large version.
alright - final report - we used the Tser Falls Vastini camp map on wednesday. not only was it higher quality but as noted in other thread we also now have Player view maps. which are also higher quality than the one for deathhouse.
So, a while back, I bought the Curse of Strahd maps from the artist's (Mike Schley) website. If I recall, the Death House map was lower rez than the rest.

so win win all around, thanks everyone!
How do you get to the player view maps?
You can post it in the Public Notes of the campaign page.
Right-click and Open the maps/artwork in a new tab. You'll get the link on the address bar.
Are you being serious right now? Do you really think I don't know about copying and pasting from an address bar?
I'm asking where the links are to the player versions of the maps. I am not seeing any link to click on in the first place. I've cleared cache and cookies and I'm still not seeing any link to any player version of the maps I'm looking for. I'm guessing because not all maps have been updated with player versions which means there aren't links to click on at all for many of the maps.
Honestly, I don't know whether to think you're trolling or insulting me.

In this forum, I am always serious and I have always tried to help the community. Never even thought of insulting someone.
That said, my answer remains. The player view maps are not all uploaded, but most are. You can see underneath the maps in the Compendium a link "View Player Map". Right-clicking on that and opening in a new tab gives you the link.

And to this question, is there an easy way to find the maps in content, instead of browsing throw all the content from start to finish?
Maybe a Maps button like there are for Items, Monsters and so on

I will defintely ask the staff to check.

sure did. as some else said in the thread it could just be that one map. i'll be testing more this weekend.

I'll be using the next map from strahd tonight. The party is about to meet madam Eva. I'll let you know if this one's better than death house. Thanks!
