I have a fellow player who uses non standard musical instrument, I have no issue with making custom equipment, but is it possible to allow to make a "custom" option that can be selected multiple times?
I've got the same question - would love to be able to add a proficiency that the PC has gained over time, like spending a few years in a particular culture and being taught a weapon that is not normally associated with their class. Would be great as a DM if I could do this simply.
I run into the same problem, where in the rp a player has spent time training a skill, I would like to grant proficiency. Even better perhaps, a Modifier to track say, a high charisma character who is, for story or roleplay purposes, had at lying. That way I can knock specifically the Deception skill down a few pegs.
My family and I play and my brother is DM. He has done a lot of homebrew stuff and right now we are converting the 3.5 edition Divines and Divinity stats and the 3.5 Epic Levels into the 5.0 edition mechanics. As part of it we are currently at rank 2 deities, and with that it gives us a +2 proficiency bonus but I'm still capped at a +6 because of the 20 level cap of course, but also no way of editing/customizing proficiency. So if you read this, please change it! Still love this digital tool, no worries. Thank you.
I looked at that on one of my character sheets I use as a test bed. It is possible to add additional boosts under the skills tab. Then select custom skills. With the custom skills it will ask you for what skill, and what modifier you want to use. You can put in manually that modifier and build up a particular skill higher.
I don't know if this has changed since 2018, given the issue that I am having I presume not. I am trying to homebrew a feat that will give a custom proficiency with a custom set of tools that I would like to homebrew but currently the only ways is as a magic item/wondrous item instead of a tool or other, however that is besides the point. Is it or will it be possible to add custom proficiencies as part of feats?

You cannot add custom proficiency via feats, it is something you will have to do manually. So just create the feat as usual, but you can add a snippet or something in the feat telling the player on how to add a custom proficiency on the character sheet.
If you do not know how to add a custom proficiency on the character sheet, you just click on <Additional Skills> or <Skills> at the bottom of the list of proficiencies.
Yeah thats the only way I know too its just really inefficient especially when there are feats like heavly armered that add proficiency so programming wise it is possible it just isnt a part of the current functions of homebrew

Adding to this, our campaign has proficiencies such as navigation of a specific town, or a mounted cannon or harpoons.
The ability to add these features as a homebrew option would be a great help because at this moment im simply adding it to the notes page.

Hi there,
there are ways you can add your +2 bonus to relevant skills on your character sheet. I suggest the following:
