I am playing a Clockwork Soul Sorcerer and I get the feature below. My issues is when I leveled up I wanted to swap Alarm for Shield.
How do I do this in the character sheet? When I go to Managed spells, I only see the spells I chose from the Sorcerer's list. Even in the character creation you can't change the spells.
Clockwork Magic
1st-level Clockwork Soul feature
You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Clockwork Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.
The feature is not yet implemented. There is a workaround using homebrew tools, though.
Here is a video I made showing how. I apologise for the shitty audio quality, but you can still hear everything and hopefully it will help.

So, aren't the spells limited by spell level for the Clockwork Sorcerer? Also, aren't there dropdown options for class features/feats already? So, why not provide a drop down/configure box within the class feature with the spells within, starting with the initial spells but also providing the spell options based on the magic school/level to be switched out. For example 1st level on the spell list is Alarm and Protection from Evil and Good, have them in a dropdown/configure format, if you keep them then they are the spells you want, however if you click on one ore both of them then a list of 1st level transmutation/abjuration spells displays, one chooses, and then these are the spells that show up on your completed character. And this can be repeated for all of your class feature spell levels (1,3,5,7,9). Admittedly, not a computer programmer but this seems reasonable.
FYI, I fixed this by creating a custom subclass that was basically the regular Sorcerer but with the appropriate spell choices.
Yeah, I made a video to show people how, in post #2 in this thread.

kinda insane how we have to jump through hoops by making janky homebrew workarounds just to swap spells (which is literally a basic level-1 class feature)...
why hasn't WotC implemented this yet?! any programming intern could figure this out in half an hour. it would literally only take like 10 lines of code...

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an abjuration or a transmutation spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.
The feature is not yet implemented. There is a workaround using homebrew tools, though.

Thank you, this is a great work-around, I will use this until the official feature is corrected.
Nice! It seems DDB still did not fix this. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thank you! Super clear instructions and great work-around! Appreciate your effort!
Thx for the video. Hopefully they add something for this soon 😊
2022 still relevant...
2023 still relevant
Nearly 2nd quarter 2023, still relevant
About halfway through 2023, still not implemented. Will have to use the homebrew fix. Come on DNDbeyond.

That video was great. Simple and effective.
This is great. Thank you
It is now 26 days from the end of 2023 and this is apparently still relevant.
2024 and this is still relevant.
This was a brilliant guide. Still using it in 2024. Thank you so much for this.
April 2024 still relevant
The guide works perfectly thank you.
Soo many things that can’t be done in the app, with relatively simple work arounds. Just adding this to the list of things to remember.
