I am very restricted because of the customization options. My Artificer needs a non magical item to infuse but I can't get a good hammer with thrown option for the Returning Weapon infusion.
Instead of a lengthy thread on why I need expanded normal weapon customizations......can we just get the thrown ability option added to the normal weapon customizations?
This would solve my problem and I'm guessing some similar ones also.
This Additional Information field is available when you do a homebrew for a magic item. To customize a mundane item or weapon in your inventory you only get some stat change boxes, a title box, and a note box. Iif you put it in the note field for non magical items D&D beyond doesn't detect that as a valid thrown item at least for the artificer Returning Weapon selections; the system doesn't treat this like a 'property' of the weapon.
Sure, you can't add it using the Infusion menu, but you can just customise and add details?
Like here: I added a +1 Warhammer. I then customised to change the name and add the notes Thrown 20/60 and the Infusion details.
Does this not solve it?
You can see it is a warhammer, can roll the dice at a click, can see it is thrown 20/60 and can see it returns to hand on use.
I'm puzzled why you couldn't just do this as was suggested earlier?

When you are able to apply the Artificers infusion to a valid thrown weapon it also applied the "Use the intelligence modifier" to your hit and damage rolls. So there needs to be a way of adding thrown to the weapons properties for the SYSTEM to recognized the weapon as a thrown type and then the weapon would get the right modifiers applied and the infusion uses can be recorded properly on the character sheet. And also for the infusion to work the item can't be magic of any type so I can't use all of the added feature of cloning a weapon and changing it's feature as it automatically makes it magic through the homebrew.
I could go in and customized the to hit and flavor text the thrown ability but then I would have to remember that my marked off infusion uses are one more that on my character sheet.
I'm just bring up an issue I specifically have, not many people would have this.

Thanks!
Thrown is really just a note added to a weapon. You can add it under "Additional Information" like this:
I am also here.
Am snek.

I'm not understanding what the problem is, here?
