Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've made a Ranger and have the Hunter's Mark for the 1d6 damage. I noticed the spell and damage button for dice roll is on the "spells tab" (makes total sense). But I find I often forget to add the damage after casting. I was just wondering if there is a way to add the damage roll/button to my "attack actions" so it's always in view when I shoot my bow. (I did think of maybe creating a custom "home brew" weapon to deal 1d6 damage (I based it on the spear) but after adding it, it automatically added a +1 to the damage (not sure why). I tried to go back to edit the weapon with a -1 but couldn't figure out how to add that custom modifier to offset the +1).
You can Customize the spell and check the checkbox Display As Attack. But note that Hunter's Mark is a bonus action, so it'll show up in the Bonus Action section on the Actions/Attacks tab.

Alternatively, if you want it to show up directly underneath your weapon attack actions so you don't forget it, you can create a Custom Action!
Click on "Manage Custom" at the top right of the Actions tab area, go down to Add New Actions and select "General" from the dropdown (the icon it gives works better for your purpose than the icon you'd get with "Weapon")
Click on the "Custom Action 1" to edit it, change the name to something like "Hunter's Mark (add damage)", select '6' for "Die Type" (this will also automatically set "Dice Count" to '1'), go to "Activation Type" and select "Action", and finally check the box next to "Display as Attack"
(Your post reminded me to make a similar custom action for my new spell Hex, lol)
AH! This is also great! (I'm glad I asked my "dumb question.") Thanks! Strange - I just attempted this and it for some reason keeps adding a +1 to the dice roll. I have nothing else selected (ie: no STR, DEX, Ranged, etc). Any idea how I can just use it to roll a single 1d6 with no mod?
(side note too: I don't see it added to the "all" tab with my attacks, but if I click on the Attack Tab, then I see it. The main point was so that I didn't have to remember to switch tabs to see the bonus for hunter's mark). :( SO Close for a solution. :)
UPDATE: So here's what I did. I added a SPEAR to my inventory. This for some reason also showed up with damage of 1d6+1 (not sure why I keep getting that +1). So then I went to customize and I was able to add a -1 modifier (to counter that +1), and then rename it to "Hunter's mark damage". This now shows up in my attacks (all tab) right next to my Longbow Attack. A little hoop jumping, but seems to work.

Would "Customiz[ing] the spell" mean making a homebrew copy of the spell and using that instead of the published version?
This thread is referring to in-sheet customisation. When you click on the spell, and the description sidebar opens, near the top, there is a drop-down labled "Customize". Under that, you can check the box marked "Display as attack"
Oh, the little edit pencil in the side bar? That what that's for? And then if I make those types of changes, it's just in current character sheet and won't mess everything else up? If so, that's extremely neat! I really had it in my mind that there was just no good way to control what was and was not in the action tab. I'm going to play around with that on one of my practices character sheets! Thank you!
