Hey everyone, I think I've found a couple of bugs related to the 2024 rules for the Warlock's Pact of the Tome and Agonizing Blast invocation.
Here are the relevant rule quotes:
Pact of the Tome: "While the book is on your person, you have the chosen spells prepared, and they function as Warlock spells for you."
Agonizing Blast: "Choose one of your known Warlock cantrips that deals damage... Repeatable. You can gain this invocation more than once. Each time you do so, choose a different eligible cantrip."
Now for the issues:
The sheet only lets me apply Agonizing Blast to Eldritch Blast. But if I take a damaging cantrip like Fire Bolt through Pact of the Tome, it becomes a Warlock spell for me. By the rules, I should be able to choose it for Agonizing Blast, but the system doesn't allow it.
Even though Agonizing Blast is "Repeatable," the sheet doesn't let me take it a second time to apply it to a different cantrip.
This seems to break the intended combo for Tomelocks in the 2024 rules. I know I can use overrides, but it would be great if the core functionality was fixed. Has anyone else noticed this?
Agonizing Blast not working properly (not repeatable, not able to select a cantrip to use it with) has been a problem ever since the release of the 2024 Player's Handbook over a year ago. It's been reported many times, so it's safe to say they know about it, but nothing has been done about it as of yet.
The fact that it's called "Agonizing Blast (Eldritch Blast)" and not just "Agonizing Blast" makes me think you're right.
It's a shame. I feel like it would be a relatively simple fix given how many other features that have similar mechanics do work properly. Thanks for the info though!

Not a matter of how complicated or simple it is. It is a matter of priority.

And it's probably complicated. I don't think there's any working feature that lets you pick an item from a dynamic list like "your current cantrips".
Not only would it require freeing up or rewriting the backend, it's also not a priority for Hasbro, who won't allocate the money, time & website downtime to do said rewrite.
So it's both complicated, & low priority.

ModeratorIn the meantime, I would just leave the invocation choice unselected and manually add the bonus to Fire Bolt instead.

Yeah I figured it made sense to take it just and then customize Fire Bolt and Eldritch Blast but this makes sense too! Thanks
