Thunderous smite says that you do 1d6 thunder damage "The first time you hit with a melee weapon attack during the spells duration". This is seemingly a bug because in the spells description it says that you deal 2d6 thunder damage and can make a creature make a save to not go prone. I assume something is conflicting in the way this was implemented because it seems like the weapon should be doing the 2nd effect not the 1st and 2nd at the same time considering RAW. This affect only applies to thunderous smite and none of the other smites so I'm not sure what the issue is currently.

Are you sure you haven't selected the 2014 version of the spell? That's where that text comes from.
It doesn't appear on the compendium page for the 2024 spell or in the 2024 Player's Handbook. Where exactly are you seeing it?

Got the same problem, where the damage on the spell list is 1d6. While other smite spells show the correct damage & scale properly with spell level.
I see what you mean now, that is definitely a bug. Might be good to report in the release issues thread for the 2024 PHB.
