I am creating a Level 4 Tiefling Warlock, pact of the blade, with Hexblade patron. I have paid for the content related to PHB and XGE in the marketplace to get access to the spells from those sources and want to add thunder step as one of my spells. But I am only able to see up to level 2 spells in the list to choose from (I can filter spells by 0, 1st, 2nd). I have tried to change the level of my character higher just to see if more spells are present. What am I missing? Is it something with the warlock class?
Also, this is the first time I have used D&D Beyond, so please be easy on me :-)
The spell Thunder Step is a 3rd level spell,. which your 4th level warlock doesn't have access to yet - this can be a little confusing when starting out with D&D, but spell levels don't equate to class levels as such.
The Warlock class table shows what level spell slot you have available and indicates that your character needs to be 5th level before their slot level is 3rd, unlocking 3rd level spells.
As DxJxC has said above, after you increase the character level, it is a good idea to refresh the browser page to ensure all the relevant data is available to the sheet.
Thank you both this is very helpful. I see now that if I set my character to Level 5 that Thunder Step does become available and I re-read through the Class table. I appreciate your help!!

After changing levels, refresh your page. See if that helps.
