Trying to re-create an existing character I play - a 4th level human variant druid.
Using the standard method, I am able to choose the ability Score Increases (I chose DEX and WIS), then the skill (STEALTH), but when I go to choose a feat (I wanted to take RESILIANT - CON), the only options I see to take are Grappler or Svirfnebin Magic (which is EXTRA strange as I did not pick Deep Gnome).
Additional Note....Under the Grappler feat, it says prerequisite is 10 STR...but I think it is supposed to be higher as well, no? 13?
Anyways, there are no other FEAT options available to choose.
For Beta phases, only the content that is available in the SRD and Basic Rules are available - that includes the feats, which means the feats list is limited. Once beta i over and the ability to purchase the full PHB is there, additional feats whilst show for those that have it.
I'll pass on the Grappler feat to have that checked - thanks for the spot!
Thanks...totally forgot almost all feats were not SRD/basic rules. Confirmed...Grappler Feat should be STR 13 prerequisite.
Though....without the TON of extra stuff from PHB etc, not sure how successful the beta will be. I think it would be better to have all full options available, but have a time expiring beta if you want to truly test out all the options. You are going to go live, and then find 1000 new bugs.
Looks like the text of Grappler has been updated - I'm seeing it display a Str 13 requirement now.
Staff have said that they dont want to take away content from anyone, which is why the Beta is the SRD only. There is checks being done on the additional content internally, so when all the content is live it should be good (of course there will always be something that slips through). :)
Understandable, but I think a poor decision on Wizards part. There is a reason so many other products on the market release full versions (with limited timeouts etc) that expire rather than hobbled versions. Few come to mind...Microsoft Office, VMWare, numerous games etc.
Show the people what the system is truly capable of (full features available during beta) so they can make a truly informed decision. You'll also find more bugs and missing content that way. Opening up the subscription to paying customers to then find more bugs and missing content will be a poor marketing decision. WotC has made this error in the past with their other electronic products.
When it does roll over to the subscription service, you could lock the characters that have content outside the subscription...more motivation to purchase. Worst case (if you don't subscribe), you quickly go back and re-create the character with SRD only content. That's the whole point of an automated character builder...take about 1 minute to create a character.
I would bet the life of my best character if you took a poll, that almost everyone would prefer full content beta with the understanding content will be locked once it goes live rather than this hobbled beta...as it stands, I'm not even testing it now as it does support ANY of my characters.

Wary the wizard who focuses on homebrew, for he can create nightmares that you wouldn't even dream of

I am not sure if this has been said yet but there are only two feats in the system. Not sure when the others are getting added.
