Is it a known issue that the sourcebook isn't showing up in the mobile app on iPad? I ask because it showed up right away last night in the iPhone app but checking on my iPad this morning it's not available for me to download.
Popping in to let mods and staff know that your excellent support staff have fixed this issue for me via my ticket on the support hub. This bug is resolved for me.
I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue but every time I try to open the sourcebook in the DnDBeyond app the app instantly closes. I’m using an iPhone 11 if that helps.
Not sure this has been mentioned, but my players noticed that EGtW is not available unless you select "Critical Role Content" on the character "home" page in creation. As this is an official sourcebook, that doesn't make much sense since it's no longer CR content but D&D content.

This is noted in the first post in the thread:
To use content from Explorer's Guide to Wildemount in the character builder, you will need to set the character preferences to include the Critical Role source category (click the "spoiler" link below to see how).
Being D&D content doesn't make it not CR content. Note that Eberron content is hidden behind a similar toggle because it's a separate campaign setting. The same is true of "Magic: the Gathering content" (which covers Ravnica and soon Theros as well), UA content, and homebrew content.
That said, I do think it's bound to cause confusion to have unofficial third-party/homebrew content (Gunslinger and Blood Hunter) mixed in with official content published by Wizards of the Coast (the stuff in this new book).
I think that's why I'm confused at its being contained with the same tag as quasi-official-ish Homebrew content. My players don't need access to the blood hunter and gunslinger, just the EGtW content. It just doesn't make much sense to include official content in the tag of something that is and was unofficial. This is an extension, to be sure, but I can Barrow down books in content sharing.
I hear what you guys are saying about RAW, but it feels a little bit like an expectation wasn't met, in how it was implemented.
The exception was met exactly as described. The books says that DMs can make exceptions through homebrew, and you can make those same exceptions through homebrew on DDB.
If that was your expectation, then good, I am glad it was met! I just had a different one. I'm only sharing opinions, and making suggestions, trying to be helpful to the discussion <3
I agree, my expectations where not met either. I don't even agree with the assertion of it being homebrew, but that is neither here nor there.
As an sside from that, has anyone figured out how to make a feat to add the spells to the list?
To my knowledge, it doesn't exist to add to the available spell list for them to later select from. The player would have to choose which spell(s) they want and you create a feat that grants them specifically.
That is what I figured, I just don't understand why they list it as a possible solution if we can't do it?
You can add the spells to a feat like the following example:
I don't have the options below Additional Description, the only option I have below that is "Is Infinite" with a check box. See screenshot link below.
I'm having the same issue and just wanted to pop in and see if this is a problem on the site end, or user error where I'm not checking the right boxes and formatting things the right way to make the site do what I'm trying to do. Would appreciate any help getting it fixed if the former, or some guidance on getting it right if the latter. Thanks!
So I enabled critical role content, thank you for the tip. Everything is working now except for the new spells. Are those enabled? I tried selecting the specific subclasses and I still don't see them. Thank you for your help
Deeply disagree with locking these spells to those subclasses. This shows a pretty clear lack of trust between DMs and Players, if a DM agrees that the players should not have access to those spells without first finding them or them being shared with them, a player shouldn't be adding them to their spellbook. However, restricting it on a mechanical/fundamental level is exceptionally frustrating as a Player and as DM.
This implementation isn't based on trust, but on the fact that D&D Beyond has to respect the rules as printed. If the rules say "Only X can use Y unless you homebrew otherwise", D&D Beyond will only make Y available to X unless you homebrew. The site always respects the rules of the game as designed by WotC, but still provides the tools to tailor the game to the experience you want.

You should probably fix this if you're going to stick with them being unavailable to other subclasses as the default.

It certainly does not state that, in fact it doesn't state anything about homebrew. Homebrew is to do something that is not stated in the book, this is a DM option that is clearly stated in the book. The way I interpret that statement is that other subclasses can't add the spells to their spell book as they level up, but if they find them on a scroll or spellbook it's fair game to scribe.
I understand the why they implemented the rules they way they did, but I don't agree with the choice. In fact I find it very dissappointing.

Ah. I was confused because in the book it's in the sections with races and sub races of Wild mount

I am as well. You’re not alone.
Bought Explorer's Guide to Wildemount. Hollowed One is not a selectable race in creation.
Indeed, because it's not a race; it adds a few traits like lycanthropy and vampirism do. It's also addressed in the first post of this thread.
I bought the book but I'm not getting ANY material that it provides in the character creation.
Do you have Critical Role content enabled on the first page of the character builder?
@Wrongjon
Make sure Critical Role content is enabled.

Are the material spell components mixed up between Ravenous Void and Dark Star?
Current material components:
Ravenous Void (9th level). a small, nine-pointed star made of iron
Dark Star (8th level). a shard of onyx and a drop of the caster’s blood, both of which the spell consumes

What you see on D&D Beyond is correct, as per the published sourcebook.
