As I knew DnDBeyond a bit more than my players, I've created their characters with my account, then created a campaign and put the characters in the campaign.
I've then shared the link to the campaign such that my players could claim their characters.
Doing so, I see the characters in the campaign but they have disappeared from my own characters list
As a DM of the campaign, do I have any mean to force an "unclaim" of a given character to get it back in my own list? Or is the only solution if to have the new owner doing the unclaim?
Any given character belongs to a specific account and the act of unclaiming and then being claimed by someone else transfers that character to their account on a permanent basis.
They can, of course, always unclaim it, so someone else can claim.
As the DM of the campaign though, you retain full access to the characters in the campaign, so you can edit them in the same way the owner can.
As an alternative, is it possible to "copy / paste" a character from an account to another (to avoid retyping every thing in case I want a kind of archive of the character I've initially created)?

@Stormknight: sorry to resurrect an old thread, but where does a player 'unclaim' a character? I cannot find any functions relating to this in the my characters overview or in the character screen.

Hi there,
you can't force anyone to unclaim.

Go the the campaign page, and all characters that belong to you will say 'unassign' in red, between the words 'edit' and 'leave.'
