So this keeps happening with many characters and all types of spell classes where if I try to level a character the Spells tab displays no known spells. The spells are still attached the character and will display fine if I go back to the character sheet. Going back to the builder via Manage Levels displays the known spells again as expected but if then add another level, the spells known disappears again until i leave the builder for the character sheet again.
If I try to re-add a spell that was previously known, I get an error, the latest one was error code 95763f55bac7467c8d97bff784bf07d3 version 3.3.2
This happens for me in both Safari 13.1.1 and Chrome 83.0.4103.116. I did not see any corresponding errors in dev tools when this happens.
There is a simple workaround but it is a little bit annoying to have to do it. Let me know if you need any other information.
JUst wanted to let you know that when i am levelling up my characters and moving to the spell list to pick new spells, the already selected spells keep disappearing (so it looks like we have no spells picked at all). A quick refresh of the page is currently fixing this mostly, although sometimes it's not and i'm getting the "we rolled a nat 1 message"
I leveled up my Evocation Wizard from level 9 to level 10 and it deleted all my spells from my spellbook. No homebrew, everything was from the sourcebooks I've purchased.
Had the same thing happen today. Leveled up a (multiclassed) Warlock, and suddenly, no spells.
To fix, I actually re-opened the character in another browser tab, then when I went to edit the class in that tab, the spells had returned. Annoying, but at least not permanent. But I wonder if it would have saved the change had I clicked the blue "Next" button on that page; that would have been frustrating.
The same thing happened to me. First I tried to go back in time using the back button on browser. That didn't work.
Then I tried to open the character in another tab and checked and they were still missing but I didn't think to try refresh. Dang. I just guessed at the spells. But I'm glad you guys posted this. I just hope to remember for the next character. I actually had this happen on two characters that leveled up this week.

I've been having this issue for several days now. Anytime I add a level to a character, the know spells vanish until I refresh the webpage. Any official word on this issue yet?

There's something in the latest changelog post about lazy loading 'known' spellcaster spells. I'm not sure if this is related or not, since it's affecting all spellcasters, but it might be related, or it could just be related to the ongoing cache issues.
I asked about it during the last DEV Update. It seemed to be an unknown issue. I have heard nother further back in these forums which is extremely unusual for DnDBeyond.

When increasing my level on the character builder (in the "2. Class" page), known/prepared spells appear to be reset. Upon refreshing the page, the old known/prepared spells show up. I dug into this and I think it's an issue with the character service not retrieving spells properly when a character increase their level. I've reproduced this on all of the characters I've tried it with, and I don't recall it happening until just a few weeks ago. Maybe a new bug was recently introduced in the character service?
I inspected the http requests and noticed something interesting. The data.updateClassSpells.spell node of the response of PUT https://character-service.dndbeyond.com/character/v3/class/level is null when my character level increases, but it's properly populated when I decrease my character level. I tried switching my level around a bunch, and a null value for this field correlates with no prepared/known spells being shown.
While there is a workaround for this (refreshing the page), it looks like a fairly straightforward bug with the character service not retrieving a character's spells under certain conditions.
Here's screenshots of the repro, showing how to do it and what part of the payload I'm referring to.
This is an example of the response when I increase my level, and the spell list is shown to be empty.

Yeah, they know about it. Maybe try a forum search before posting next time?
It's an issue with how it caches. Devs know, but it's minor, simple and very low priority.
You can level up on main Class tab first then go to spells - since you've levelled before loading Spells page. If you go to the spells page first and level up after the Spells won't auto-update as it's cached. You can easily fix by Refreshing and easily prevent by levelling on Class tab first.

Cyb3rM1nd would explain a little more on how to prevent this from happening? I always have to refresh to fix this. I have not been able to prevent this from happening at all. Whether I expand the spells tab or not has not prevented the spells from nulling out and requiring a refresh.
I would be grateful for a better workaround of this bug than the refresh fix if at all possible.
I like to make character concept, but lately I found that if I level up a character, the spell list becomes empty until I hit the refresh button on my browser.
Furthermore, when I do want to add spells when it's in this state, I get an API error.
I hope you are able to resolve this, because it really screws with the fluidity of the character creator.

I had the same issue and now I have "Ceremony" on my Paladin THREE times, two of which are always prepared and I cannot remove them.

My wife had the same issue. Long Rest doesn't seem to be working and she couldn't update her hit points... other issues today too...

Has there been any progress on this, it's happening to me while trying to lvl up any spellcasting class?

same here. a little fustrating but hopefully someone is looking in to it.
I reported this same disappearing spell bug as well. I haven't seen anyone respond acknowledging the bug yet.

I tried a few forum searches actually, with terms like "prepared", "spell", "reset", and "level up", but didn't find threads that matched this issue.
