When selecting items to add to a character sheet from Manage Inventory, a drop-down menu now appears when hitting the ‘add’ button fir the item, with a prompt for the item to be placed in either backpack or equipment. On the iPad I’m unable to select either, with any attempt closing the drop-down menu without adding the item. The drop-down menu does work if using a MacBook in conjunction with a mouse or trackpad.
this problem has now spread to computers as of 08:30 BST 8th October 2021. i created a new character on my account and was able to give her all her starting equipment but then could not in any way equip it. result an unusable Fairy Warlock and an annoyed player/ DM
I'm not sure if this is the same issue as the one we're all experiencing on iPad... The reason the iPad issue is present is because when we go to Inventory > Manage Inventory, then search for an item and click "add," there is a drop down menu that says "ADD TO:" and the iPad touch screen doesn't seem to recognize that drop down menu as a selectable item. When you tap on "backpack," or "equipment," it just takes you out of the inventory side menu as if you had touched anywhere else on your character sheet.
True, my issue seems to have been solve by the fix so hopefully the same is true of you issue as well.
I you my pc for creating and levelling characters and iPad for playing them so if the glitch you describe is still happening I’ll likely run into it sooner or later, like walking into a gelatinous cube only without losing ten hit points
Yeah, its really frustrating but its because of their initial rollout of storage containers in player inventories. I think they mentioned that that update was the first of a few waves of updates to help optimize player organization so hopefully they figure out a way to fix this. I'm sure a HUGE portion of their player base uses tablets for playing. I'm surprised there hasn't been more of an uproar from players or communication about them addressing it since its been going on for a couple of months now.
I'm not sure if we ever specified where each of us are having these issues on this thread... I'm working on the DnD Beyond website in a browser on an iPad and that's where I'm having these inventory issues. I think they updated the mobile app recently and that's working just fine for inventory management. But personally, the tablet view of the browser web page is the most efficient way for me to use DnD Beyond where the most features are present. I am playing a Battle Smith Artificer so I need access to my Steel Companion on the Extras tab which isn't available on the mobile app yet. I hope this is on their radar to fix soon. I feel like inventory management should be smoothest on the webpage of all places.

Same here for everyone at my table.

Same here for everyone in our campaign
Have any of the devs acknowledged this? Or do we know if this is getting fixed soon?
Nothing yet, however it was submitted over Labor Day weekend so there might be a delay.
Same here on iPad Pro.

Seems to be fixed! The web update looks good and works great on iPad now!
