Hey everyone, I thought this would be a good place to write down your first thoughts. How is the UI? How easy was this to understand? Were things where you expected them to be? Did this do everything you initially thought it would do?
Not flashy, but that's not a bad thing. Easy to navigate. All the information seems to be available and easy to find. Overall I like it on first glance. I will keep digging and see if everything shakes out as I expect once I get deeper into things. So far so good.
For me, I thought this was fantastic. I love seeing the art, I love the ability to sort. I did have a hard time with knowing to look in the upper right once I logged in. But once I found the 3 options of phase one, I figured it out. Also, it would be fantastic to add monsters and potions to your account and have them ready to go. But that is probably coming in Home Brew. Also, the ability to add my own PC players level and sort monsters by difficulty, again, probably with home brew. Why log in with twitch? It maybe a beta thing. I found that kinda odd, especially sense I have my DND account.
As @GerboGiantSlayer said, so far so good, my only dissapointment is that when they give the news of this as a beta, was expecting the release of a database like this ( where you could manage sessions and characters and so) along with the same database as an app.
I undertand they are working on it, and im really looking forward to it, but i believed the lack of an electronic tool was going to be hit from 2 fronts at the same time.
I like this, and i like the info as well as the presentation, its really what i was expecting from WotC, simple and functional.
Now ill dig deeper and wait for the 2nd and 3rd phase, as well as i wait for the app
Unless you have some kind of deal with Twitch, which it would be nice if you disclosed, having to use a Twitch account to log in is distasteful. I will never use Twitch. Maintaining your own user control seems like a better business decision anyway. What happens if Twitch gets bought and changed or even shut down?
I will say that I'm enjoying phase 1 very much, but I am wondering if material from Volo's Guide and Sword Coast adventures will be added, as currently there is only info from the PHB and DMG.
Looks like it has a lot of potential for sure. The Spells and Monsters sections are already looking like a great tool, but I'd like to be able to save specific sets of them for quick reference. I'm sure they've got that planned for the spells, in phase 2.
The Twitch requirements don't bother me much, but I can see that being a bit of a barrier to entry for those that have no interest in Twitch.
Pretty amazing and powerful. I love seeing the art. Very intuitive. However, I did expect to able to use the tags as a way to see all items/monsters/etc. within each tag. I'd love to see them turned into links.
Good so far, kinda janky on mobile. Something to come where I can create and manage character stats? JUST jumped on this bandwagon so I haven't really read up on this.
Also not a fan for having to make a Twitch account in order to sign up here. I understand the lure for it, in terms of beefing user numbers for Twitch, but isn't this just poor practice for keeping accounts secure and separated?

Agreed. I've only briefly browsed so far but I'm liking what I'm seeing. So far I've noticed it's a little unresponsive as far as on mobile goes. My android phone is having a rough time loading in the forums pages. Other than that it's easy to navigate. I can't wait for Phase 2 and 3.
I thought the project would be more app like rather then online resources, but hopefully in the next phases well wee some good tools. So far the site seems easy to navigate once you realize what it is...LOL. Nice clear and concise which is always better then flashy. It has enough graphics so it doesn't feel boring, But could use a bit more once you have things locked down.
Really enjoying it so far. Hopefully I'll be able to bookmark monsters, items and spells in phase 2. Right now, easy to navigate, good graphics, so far so good.
So far liking the website, quick access to things that are useful for a DM/player is super nice. Looking forward to using this during our next session.

I am ravenous.
My mouth open,
The yaw lined with great white teeth.
I chase the light.
i eat, too, the darkness you offer.
My eyes see all. Yes, even you.
And I taste the flesh of the betrayers.
I wait.
Soon.

So far so good. I do like the being able to search for specific categories.
Curse, the maker of this tool, is a Twitch company. So that's most likely why it requires a Twitch login.

Good sleuthing. Thanks for the info
So it turns out, it is kinda hard to delete a post.

So far, I am impressed. I am excited to see everything so I am going to do more
Exploring!
