1.) Don't really care for the compendium design. Would prefer it link to the page containing the information inside a .pdf form of the book containing said information. At the very least it should refer to the book and page where the info came from.
2.) Why doesn't the spell list contain spells from the Elemental Evil Player Companion? Its a free download so they should have been included. Will spells from other material be included? For example: Sword Coast Adventurers Guide or will we have to create these manually?
3.) Instead of "View Item Page" or "View Monster Page" going to another web page would like to see it link to .pdf form of book that contained the information. At the very least it should refer to the book and page where the info came from.
4.) Get proper monster pictures loaded for each monster. Many of these are using a generic picture.
5.) The stat blocks for spells and monsters are terrible. They should mirror the layout from the books to keep things consistent. Again instead of recreating all this they should just link to the page in a .pdf form of the book.
6.) Would hope that they plan to include a random treasure and random encounter generator.
As to 2 and 4, I read that they are only include the SRD 5.1 stuff here, which doesn't include any pictures. I think the big question to answer is how does WotC plan to deliver the extra content to us. The treasure and encounter generators would be great. Other sites have them, but to have them built into the SRD would be nice.
I would believe if they merely linked to .pdf from the book, then this would hardly be a useful compendium at all. I much rather prefer the online format than having a digital pdf equivalent. One could merely use the pdf in an ebook reader if that layout was preferential.
Why would it be less useful? Its the same information but in a less user friendly format. For example the stat blocks for monsters, and spells is laid out much better in the books than it is here.
PDF is a lot less user friendly than this website. Here we have filters and it's obvious were we need to go to see what. In a PDF, it's usually everywhere and a ctrl+f doesn't find it right away.
I can agree that consistency in layout would be beneficial. I would only want to avoid pdf links as attachments. Let the data be present on website rather than linking out, is all.

I feel like that is incredibly subjective. I find the monster manual to be super condensed and hard to quickly navigate, here the information is spaced out and I can quickly find exactly what I'm looking for, also since it's a web tool ctrl+f is a bit of a godsend. If you like the books by all means continue to use them I know I wont be rid of mine as the internet isn't always readily available.
I see what your saying. I agree that there are some advantages but disadvantages as well. For example I see no search functions. If the book was available in .pdf you could search document. The bigger spacing for that stat block may look good on your computer screen but try to fit that onto a phone, the book version would fit much better.
A .pdf form of the book would allow you to search the whole document. I see no search function here. For example if you were unfamiliar with the game and wanted to look up information about stealth you need to know to look under dexterity. If you could search the .pdf it would be no problem to find the info.
No search feature? On this website? The top of each section (spells/items/monsters) is a search and filter section....
I think Buck is referring to a general search bar on the home area, or at the top of every page. Something that would bring up a list of pages within the site that had the keywords.
It would be indispensable as I already know I use a similar bar on the d20pfsrd web tool on a regular basis to find things my players are using and correct them because my players like to only read the parts that are sweet and non of the drawbacks or costs haha xD

There are filter for Spells, Monster, and items but I see no search function on the compendium screen. If I'm missing something please point it out to me.

I didn't even notice that there wasn't one until you pointed it out :P (I also didn't see his second reply until I refreshed). I'm not sure if an absolute beginner would really need this website. There's not much on the basics of playing the game, but more details about it without going full PHB or DMG. It would be nice if all the information from the books was included here (and available across platforms), but... yeah. It probably wouldn't be free to view and entry level players are probably not invested enough to pay for that.

I also would like to see a different compendium. It could be a bit better in my own opinion. I also feel as if some of the monsters from the monster lists are missing?

I over all really like this! at the moment it is not a stand alone system for players to use but after full game comes out it has potential to be!
i personally think that this thing is great and i can't wait for the next step of the beta.
