So, the new version of the character sheet will have ad hoc item creation in the sheet, but the system still won't have the ability to make custom items outside of the sheet. This means you can't make a custom weapon, which in turn means you can't make a set of enchanted versions of custom gear to give to your PCs as loot or in shops.
Well, you can, but not entirely within the system.
It also means that you can't digitally give out mundane custom gear, without handing out cards or reading out descriptions, that the players then have to input manually into their character sheet. It's better than the current situation, but it's far from ideal.
What do you think? Should the system allow you to custom build mundane gear, trinkets, tools, devices, etc, and transfer them to other users? Is this important broadly, or am I an oddball DM?
Does the system need an easier way to add an enchantment to an existing mundane item, but finding or building that item in the system (not in the sheet), and then clicking a "customize" button that opens up all the options, and lets you either build from scratch (with the starting point of the selected mundane item), or choose from a list of different existing enchantments?

...Why ad hoc items don't fill the need.
