To be fair if you think it's a problem, then own books on roll20, hard cover and Fantasy Grounds, then say HASBRO is an evil corporation devouring the souls because they haven't added another icon like a chest (similar to the heart) which can tag an item, I own.... Ohhh the woe, I must do it manually!! EVIL CORPS!!
You do realise, some of these EVIL CORPS are trying to pay people pensions when they want to retire and cannot work anymore. Most pension schemes are reliant on shares doing well in a stock market.
Honestly, I am not going to blame HASBRO if I buy a book I already own, and honestly, it's not that difficult to have two tabs open, go to sources and search "library" then scroll through the marketplace.
Just sayin'
Sorry, your example about a chest no where near correlates to the complaint. Missing chests, etc, which be part of the software is like missing pieces inside the books. Heck, there are things missing in DDB character tool like the mithril chain which is not supposed to cause stealth checks to be at a disadvantage still shows a disadvantage. That doesn't equate to the badly designed webpages. I don't think anyone mentioned "Evil" but okay. It is deafening that the company doesn't respond to the thread at all. If their web design leads to a customer accidentally buying a product more than once, then I fully blame the company. Technically, the company has no means of "delivering" a second copy of the same electronic book which should mean they could not take the money for a product they cannot deliver.
This is insane. I haven't been in the Market Place for a while now (destination wedding and honeymoon immediately following). I figured I'd pre-order the new rulebooks and check out what all has come out and I can't figure out what I do / don't own anymore to just quickly buy it. I've literally bought every book as they've come out digitally and have fallen off because of the previously described priorities. I'm not wasting my time sifting through each and every single book just to tell if I own it or not. Outside of the new corebooks, I won't be anything again for a while now. Huge downgrade.
I'm holding off on the new rule books myself. If no one with the company is even willing to post responses to this thread, perhaps it's a sign to switch to Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds for the next version. At least my existing materials in DnD Beyond will still be accessible. I really don't see another way to be "heard" by the company except via the power of the wallet at this point.
Same. Removing that functionality turns me off to making purchases any time soon. I don't want to accidentally re-order something I already own and there is no option to filter by ownership or even a notice like there used to be prior.
I used to buy everything new as it came out. With pre-orders and so on, I can't always tell what I've ordered. Now I'm buying nothing until this is fixed.
Let's say that again: I used to buy EVERYTHING. Now I buy NOTHING. Put back an indicator of what I already own.
I'm sure I'm not the only one. You are losing significant revenue, a lot more than you gain by people accidentally buying something twice.
You know what else would be good to add if they decide to show us what we have already purchased? A la carte buying, I think that would be a pretty good feature to implement with your idea.
Totally agree, the new marketplace should allow me to see things I don't already own, with an option to turn it off if I want to buy another copy for a friend. The new store in general is not nearly as clean as the old store. It's a shame, but I presume it was to integrate with WotC's physical product store.
This has made my return so much more difficult than it needed to be.
It's insane. They've actively removed functionality that existed - I can't now see which source books contain what information, subclasses etc, or what I own.
It also prevents Canadians from purchasing additions to the Legendary Bundles due to no longer allowing Canadian addresses for digital content. Am I smuggling bytes over some border?
I just wonder why anyone haven't thought of this when re-working the Marketplace. Or was it intentional?

How can someone be like this? cray cray
I'm glad I'm not the only one this bothers. lol
Yes, it used to filter out owned content. Why did the redesign get rid of this filter?

Agreed

I also disagree with removing this filter. I don't really have the time to browse every title just to find the one or two things I don't own.
Please put back the option to only show content I don't own.
Is there a way for me to only see what I do own?
Edit: I see it now. Odd way to do it, but at least I can.

Want to let us in on the secret? 😉
I figured I was the only one lost.. lol
if you go to: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources#Sourcebooks
in the search bar, type "library"
This is still not a great UI design element, but at least it exists.
This has made my return so much more difficult than it needed to be.
It's insane. They've actively removed functionality that existed - I can't now see which source books contain what information, subclasses etc, or what I own.
It's unintuitive and baffling.
Ah! Still requires cross-referencing and fails about every UX design heuristic I can think of, but that DOES help! Thank you!
It also prevents Canadians from purchasing additions to the Legendary Bundles due to no longer allowing Canadian addresses for digital content. Am I smuggling bytes over some border?
Please bring back the filter to toggle content I already own.
