I love watching Battle for Beyond, the show on the youtube channel DM'ed by Jasmine Bhullar, but am very disappointed by the state of the captions and transcript. First and foremost, both of those are tools for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals. They are methods of access by which they can enjoy the show with equality. The first and biggest problem is the laziness that went into making them. the transcribers will just put "(inaudible)" or "(indistinct)" whenever words are the slightest bit slurred or run together, when I can hear and understand them fully and completely. It has gotten to the point that I am ready and willing to make my own transcript and send it to them if it means fixing such a horrible attempt at providing access.
The second issue is the use of "(censored)", whenever the cast swears. I would not have a problem with it if the words were also bleeped out, but they are not. If hearing people can hear the word "f*ck" (which, ironically, I have to censor due to the rules of the forums) , Deaf people can read it. Either both should be censored, or neither should. Again, I am willing to re-write a transcript for every episode of Battle for Beyond if it means you use it.
Seriously, with a company as large as WotC, at least one person there should be doing quality control on this show with some of the biggest names in the space.
3rd- I don't think they are in this case. For one thing, they have correctly spelled and capitalized magic fantasy words, which auto generated can't do. Secondly, Youtube censoring typically either omits the word or puts (_____), not (censored). Thirdly the transcript is better than YouTube's auto-generated ones. Let me be clear, this is NOT impressive, but this sentence: "I'm Jasmine "ThatBronzeGirl" Bhullar, and it is my divine pleasure to welcome these stellar players to my table." would read "I'm jasmine that bronze girl bowler and it is my divine plearue to welcome these stellar players to my table". Missing commas, not being able to recognize jasmine as a name, miss hearing words, and it would definitely NOT put "ThatBronzeGirl" as one word with caps like that.

That's mostly a myth. YouTube can tell when you swear, and it doesn't matter if you put it in the captions or not with regards to monetizing. Proof of this being how even people with no captions still get detected. Plus, the captions are pretty bad even without considering swear words.

- You don't have to self censor, the forum code will do that by itself and self censoring actually interferes with that

Do you think the purchase is why we never got the promised season 2?
