The 2024 is an optional upgrade and many ongoing campaigns don’t want to switch over. Currently there is no way to exclude the 2024 options in the character editor, which makes it very awkward to use for such campaigns (and many of my friends have been discouraged using it by that.)
Please allow us to filter out the 2024 content in the character editor the same way 2014 content can be turned off.

I agree completely, filtering out the 2024 content would be great, the weapon list is my current gripe. I would like to have the 2014 list back, even as a legacy option.
I'd pay double the cost of my former master tier subscription, just to have DDB work like it did before the 2024 changes, just to not see the 2024 books and rules and tips.
DDB being worse at playing 5e makes it a worse tool that I can't keep encouraging my players to use. And the more 2024 slop that gets released we have to ignore, the worse the tool will become. Make it work like a digital library, for the books we want to use and the version we want to play.
I want to point out, I don’t hate the 5.5e 2024 changes (in fact I like them), but I want to hide it for campaigns that do not use them, to decrease confusion and clutter. The rules might be mostly compatible with the 2014 ones, but the whole character generation part isn’t, and I want to have the option to easily create “pure” 2014 characters with 2014 backgrounds and 2014 races species and 2014 feats and 2014 spells without having to spend time to triple check every choice whether it’s from the 5.5e instead of 5e. (And simply going for legacy tag doesn’t work, since a lot of content that are equal in both editions are simply unlabelled and would have to be manually checked.)
I mean the whole PR behind it is “you can use the edition you want”, so please PLEASE let us do that without having to jump through extra hoops.
I've hated D&D 5e 2024 since it came out as Unearthed Arcana. I do like the DMG 2024, mostly for Greyhawk and Bastions. Magic Items I rate 5/10 due to the lack of individual item pricing. I have more monsters than I will ever use. I absolutely hate how they now handle spellcasting monsters. Thus, I will not buy the MM 2024.
In other words, I'd love having the ability to disable the bloody 5e 2024 Free rules. They are a royal pain in the ass for my campaigns.

The only way there is a chance for them to change this/ add in such a feature. Is if the feature reaches the same level of backlash, as when they tried to change the OGL. They have shown over and over that they don't care about quality or customer service. There are things from books they said year ago, they would add to the app. It hasn't happened. Look how poorly the search option is for the site. Look at how hard it is to see what books you own, yet it's so each to see the dice you own. It's just about showing more stuff to buy, down our throat

They still haven't added a light theme to the mobile app, so I can't use it without hurting my eyes after a couple minutes, so I am not holding my breath either, but noone can say we didn't say anything about this.

Boosting this. Give us a full toggle to hide/disable *ALL* 2024 rules/changes. The new stuff is adding bloat in all the worst places and it’s a turn-off to my new players.

Fully agree with most above. An option to hide all 2024 release content on the character creator/editor would be awesome.
This has been requested since day 1 by hundreds. I'm still waiting on that hide 2024 content toggle. It makes this whole site difficult for me.
+1 I don't want to renew my subscription if this is "working as intended." It's unintuitive and wading through 2024 bugs is a chore and frustrating.
+1 the current state is horrible and unusable
