making homebrew would be really great if only three things were added to d&d beyond:
1) being able to change the strength or dexterity modifier that a weapon uses to a different modifier like the constitution modifier. this would allow you to make the ranged weapons and the melee weapons equally useful to a cleric, warlock, bard and any other class. also, in some situations in a campaign, ranged weapons are useful and in other situations, melee is useful. so having weapons be able to be modified to use any modifier would be useful in certain situations. also, it would make the cleric class more useful since you can already change the dexterity modifier that armors use to a strength modifier. also, classes only add points to two stats when you level up but those stats you add points to are different for each class, so there is a problem when you limit the modifier that a weapon uses to only strength and dexterity.
2) being able to publish your homebrew when it has similar names to other names in D&d. this issue is an issue because when i publish something like "STR armor 1" and then i publish "STR armor 2", "STR armor 1" is deleted from community homebrew and my homebrew creation list. i have even replicated the Brass Dragon D&D monster as a steed character species called, "Mini Brass Dragon" yet i cannot publish it because of the same issue even though it the only new thing i added is it's ability to swim in lava and magma without taking damage and be able to breathe in magma and lava.
