I'm fairly new to D&D Beyond. I love the character sheet UI! Just click for a long bow attack roll, and the d20 is rolled and all the bonuses are automatically added. If the DM says it hit, one click and damage is rolled. It's smooth and fast and keeps the game moving.
I level up and select Beast Master with the optional Tasha's Primal Companion. Unless I am missing something, now I need physical dice and a pencil, because I can't roll an attack for my beast in the UI. HP is the only thing implemented in the UI, everything else is just a formula. It looks like the situation isn't any better for the original 2014 base Hunter's Companion, so it isn't just because I picked something out of left field.
There must at least be a way to just roll dice in the UI that I've missed, right? Then it would be UI for my hunter and paper for his companion.
BTW, I get that for experienced players this is no big deal. Half the group is playing with paper by choice.

While you cannot roll on its stat block in the character sheet, you do have digital dice on the bottom left of your character sheet.
Thank you! I don't know how I missed it. And thanks for the wording, now I know what to ask for - "The ability to roll for a companion on its stat block in the character sheet". Does that sound right?

You have not missed anything. D&D Beyond has never implemented that sort of thing for pets/familiars/summons/etc.
