As for leather armor, have you used the search tool for 'Leather' or 'Light Armor'?
Searching for 'Light Armor' only brings back magic armor as non-magic armor does not have the 'Light/Medium/Heavy Armor' tags. Not necessarily a bug, but definitely something that should be looked at in any update to the equipment menu.
Noticed that all feats are not showing on the variant human and would recommend being able to select point by or manually inserting stats prior to selecting race or class features

For the beta, only the rules and options provided in the D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion are available in Beyond. Once the full platform launches later this summer, the core rule books and others will be available for purchase, and the content within will be available for those that purchase, or have access through a DM's subscription.
Using the search box will return a list including the mundane items for all weapons and armor, they just don't appear when looking through the unfiltered list.
I don't like the order in which the character creation choices are presented, especially skills. Because background skills are set, either the background choice should be earlier (with previously selected skills greyed out later) or skills should be presented all at the same time with the set skills from race/background shown + then slots for the remaining skill choices. Same with languages. I think this should be just one step to pick all your languages at one time, rather than at two different points of the workflow.
My preferred order of operations that I use with all my D&D groups is - select class, select race, select background, then calculate ability scores with race/class in mind, then apply feats/skills, lastly choose spells. To me "I want to be a sorcerer" is the most important choice and informs the race selection a lot more than "I want to be an elf".
I'm not able to add any spells to the character sheet. The add button is there, but nothing happens when I click it.
Will magic items from the published campaign books be available? Examples - weapons from Princes of the Apocalypse, dragon masks from Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat, etc.
Rather than showing the Weapon and To Hit modifier, it would be nice to also see the damage dice without having to use the drop down as well.
Equipment Section:
Might be nice to be able to say what is equipped to hand/off-hand for dual wielding? Could somehow work that into the Attacks section so that you can more easily see what the damage would be if you attacked with the off-handed weapon? Trying to think of ways to make it a bit easier for new players. For the currency section, it would be nice to have a (+) that you could click to quickly add 30 GP, 2 SP, 1 CP when you come across that in game. I get that it's relatively basic math, but that'd make things a bit easier.
Features Section:
I feel like there's a way to list features that would make them a bit easier to keep track of. For instance, I won't frequently need to reference the Age section for a halfling, but might need to be reminded of Lucky, Brave, Stout Resilience, etc. that come into play a bit more. Or for class features, making your fighting style or arcane class or whatever a bit more prominent on the page. So finding a way to make some of the more relevant information a bit more prominent or distinguished. But I don't have any ideas off the top of my head on how that would work exactly. Each class's character sheet might have to look a little different?
Limited Use Section:
Feel like there's a better name for this section, but I don't know what that is.
Senses:
Passiver Perception has a + in front of the number. That seems a bit misleading?
Spells:
Perhaps I was doing it wrong, but Arcane Recovery didn't seem to reset my spell slots? Another feature that could be nice is, if you click long rest, there could be a pop-up the asks you what spells you want to have prepared, and you could choose to either keep the ones you had the previous day or choose new ones.
Haven't posted before. I'm sure other people have expressed similar ideas, and you may have said you're already going to be adding these. But figured I throw it out there.
I'm sure the feedback has been given already but just started and reading forums so I'm playing catch up. In addition to the existing menu or navigation options that take you to editing a character sheet (any area), also add the functionality to make it editable by clicking the section or on the main header. i.e. When I'm just viewing my own created character I need to go "back" somewhere to edit, but say I was reading through Attributes and wanted to slightly tweak it, like clicking in that area bring me to the edit or clicking on the section title "Attributes" allow me to make changes, thus saving extra navigation.

Suggestion: Traits/Bonds/Flaws: It would be great to the option of selecting from the published list and homebrew, or just writing it in like you have to do now.
Suggestion: Equipment: I want to add my voice to the suggestion that adding the suggested equipment takes you through the options and adds the chosen equipment to your inventory.
Improvement: Character Sheet: It is easy to accidentally slide the header of the sheet out of view with no way to get it back without sliding to another screen. I suggest it to be more deliberate or not exist at all.
Improvement: Builder: There should be a custom dice roller for stats as another option (not to replace the current Custom method in which you type in the numbers). Also, when you select a stat to input manually, it should switch your mobile to a number keypad instead of a keyboard.
Possible Bug: Builder: Stats: When I input my Str, it updated instantly, but when I entered the other stats, it would not update or save those stats unless I tried to complete the sheet, where I was forced to go back and input those stats...then it worked.
Thanks all for the wonderful app and opportunity to give feedback!!
Improvement: When selecting class skills, it would be nice to hide the skill just picked from the next dropdown to avoid someone selecting the same skill twice.
Improvement: When populating the class skill list, you should remove or have an alternate display for any skills the character might automatically be proficient in from their race. Example: I selected Wood Elf (proficiency in Perception) and this skill was presented to me in the Druid class skills dropdown.
Some sort of coin calculation entry method embedded into the currency window. I'm thinking the best way would be one number entry box and then a plus and a minus next to it, so you enter the amount and hit the plus or minus to apply the monies.
At this point, I feel like someone has asked for this already, but it would make D&D beyond a complete currency manager without outside tools (because head math is hard :( )
Just created a level 5 wizard with an 18 Intelligence and wanted to post a few issues I noted.
Casting Mage Armor or Shield do not modify the AC value at the top of the page. My suggestion would be to have them apply at casting and then have a box appear in the Limited Use section to allow you to "Expire" them. The same could happen when casting a concentration spell to remind you that it is active.
Clicking the "Use" button on Arcane Recovery does not actually recover spell slots, you have to manually uncheck them in the Spell Slots section under Spells. It would be more useful to have a box pop up to uncheck them, which would also check that you do not exceed the limits of the ability. The same could be done when spending Hit Dice on a Short Rest, with a pop-up box asking you to enter a hit point value that then applies back to your current hit points.
When equipping and attuning to a Wand of the War Mage, the bonus does not apply to the modifier for spell attack rolls. For example, with a +1 wand Fire Bolt should have a +8 to hit (+4 Int, +3 Prof, +1 Wand of the War Mage). The character sheet still shows as +7. This could be because there is nothing to indicate that the wand is actively being held, in which case a toggle on items/weapons should be included to indicate what is currently in hand (and which hand for two-weapon fighting purposes).
So this may seem like a knit pick but I noticed that Aarakocra, Genasi, and Goliaths are available. I thought only PHB races were available at this time. Not complaining or anything but I have a physical copy of the PHB and these races are not in it. I was wondering where the play-ability of these races came from so that I can get a physical copy of the source (always like having physical copies in case I don't have internet or cell service)

Aarakocra Genasi Goliath and Svirfneblin are part of the Elemental Evil PLayer's Companion, which is a free supplement on the WotC website. The Devs kindly implemented that as well.
Will you be able to edit a character back from a higher level to a lower level? I wanted to see a character at a lower level if I had gone with other options....or lazily validate a character design so it can be fun but not useless before i get up to a higher level.

Currenly it is not possible to level down a character, but it will be.
I should have been more specific. In the manage items tab, from your character sheet. I copied what I'm seeing. no black scimitar

- Adding the explorers pack should add a backpack and all of its contents separately so you can consume them.
- Need to be able to add an unarmed weapon that I can equip. (I'm creating a monk).
- Need to add the religious items associated with the Acolyte background to the equipment list.
- It would be useful to be able to exclude magical items.
- It would be useful to view categories of items (simple weapons, light armor, etc).
That issue does not appear to be limited to the scimitar.
When clicking the 'Load More' button to show the entire list of all the weapons and armor I was only able to see the mundane versions in the list for:
Armor: Breastplate; Chain Mail; Chain Shirt; Half-plate; Hide; Leather.
Weapons: Arrows; Blowgun; Club; Crossbow Bolts; Crossbow, Light; Javelin; Longsword; Shortbow.
