The current "DM Notes" for campaigns is very crude with only a "Private" and "Public" notes section. For homebrew campaigns where there will be notes for any and all: locations, npcs, quests, etc. these note sections can become quite lengthy. As such I have been using a different tool to store and manage my campaign notes, that allows for different entities, where each location, npc, quest is a different entity and can be linked together as needed.
Now I get that some DMs like to have their notes in more of a "document" format like how D&D Beyond's system currently works, and some prefer to have a more "modular" system (like loosely described above), and I know it's impossible to make everyone happy. Currently I'm having to juggle several different apps (D&D Beyond for character sheets & rule books, Kanka for campaign notes/management, Roll20 for maps, Kobold Fight Club for random encounter builder, Improved Initiative for encounter management & tracking) and if possible I would like to be able to combine any of these. With the launch of the (currently alpha) encounter builder in D&D Beyond it looks like here may be a good place to combine some of these tasks.
With that said is doing anything like that currently on the roadmap/planned, or any suggestions from more experienced DMs on how they manage this that might help someone who is still fairly new at DMing?
