First, I did some simple searching but did not find any real detailed thread regarding this. Second, I checked the trello feature tracker and while I see something that MIGHT be applicable, trello is very vague in detail.
I had been utilize another site for tracking campaign information. Think of a combination of a wiki and a blog with cross linking and each page would have both public and private information(ie, player vs DM only). While I find the base level of that site very useful(ie, the free version) for what I need, it would be significantly more useful for that information to be hosted in a single location, ie, DnDBeyond.
I am not sure what the policy is here for discussing alternate products of any sort, so have not said the name of the product(web based), but if a mod ok's that, I can update the post.
Features I would want/need:
Ability to create new "things"(NPCs/locations/items/etc) in a wiki style and cross link them together within the confines of a "campaign"
Ability to add tags to each "thing"(wiki entry or blog)
Ability to create running notes for the party as a whole per adventuring session(like a group blog)
Ability to search free text or tags within a given campaign.
Ability to have Character sheet information from the DnDBeyond character builder create/update pages within the confines of the campaign. This second of the character notes should have distinction between public vs private(ie, stuff others can see vs stuff only the player and GM can see)
DDB is not designed to be the 1 site you need to run an entire campaign. I believe it was originally designed to be a supplement for table play (replacing character sheets and books, but not dice and tabletops). It may one day have all the features you are describing (for example an NPC builder is planned), but for now you will probably need to outsource those functions to other sites.
I know and as I stated, I already have a solution in place(one I have been using off and on for 10 years).
I am very much in the camp of "if I don't ask for something I will get exactly what I ask for".(ie, nothing) I have no illusions that this would be a feature to be added in the next 6-12 months, possibly much longer, and perhaps never at all(but since we play with multiple GM's AND only once a month AT MOST, and sometimes less than that). But given the existing nature of how source material work via cross linking as well as the tool tips it's already half way there in some respects(blog type features). Now, as a developer myself, I realize that it may or may not be an easy transition to treat "campaigns" as another "source" so to speak but that would be an extremely useful feature.
My main question was exactly what, if anything the existing roadmap item discussing campaign management entailed.. yes, it's a long way out on the roadmap, but it may or may not cover some or all of what I am asking, hence hoping someone from the creative team might pipe up. The trello site is useful with high level but there is no specifics of what each thing means in detail in terms of various use cases they may want to cover.

I would gladly pay for a module that allowed me to organize a homebrew campaign in DDB in the style of how the adventures are done.
