This is driving me nuts. I made a special +2 longbow that does 1d12 damage. I want to make a custom item and give it to my players, but it is impossible to change the base dice damage, so it always says 1d8.
When I try to make a custom attack, I can assign 1d12 and calculate the damage mod correctly, but it then doesn't include the +2 to hit, since its not a magic item, and I can only specify that the to hit value is only DEX + Prof.
Why is this so hard? Why can I not modify these base values with manual overrides, either from a custom attack OR a custom magic item? This is so clunky and should be simple.
The only way I thought this could be possible would be a +2 greataxe, and give it thrown and custom range properties, but that still doesn't show on the sheet correctly, since it displays as melee. I'm going nuts here.
