Used it on my phone for the first time in-game this past weekend. Overall, very useful. Mobile app is definitely a must - place we play at doesn't have wifi, so offline would be fantastic! Also, if I may - a better indexing system would be nice. The current layout is not super intuitive - also a way to bookmark frequently used content would be really helpful!
I'm not sure why everyone keeps calling this an app. It's a great website, but I'm not confident in a connection dependent service, especially when it comes to accessing my characters and source material. An installable native app, (iOS and android), that allows me to open and edit my characters while I'm at a convention and have no wifi, is pretty much a minimum level of entry. Otherwise, it's just a cool website. A very cool website I'll grant you, but not really a tool that I can 100% count on being there.
The beauty of this promises to replace you having to lug all of your books around. I think it could do that, but without offline, I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that if something happened to the wifi, like GenCon scrambling it or something, then I wouldn't have my materials.
On a positive note, the UX is great so far. However, if it was a native app, it could be much more performant, feature rich, and not have to be encased in the browser window. Crossing my fingers that you guys can get it done.
Windows 10 Universal app please! This would be amazing on a Surface Pro.
I second this! A mobile app would be amazing, but I need an offline app for PC so that I can run games when I'm out in the middle of nowhere so I can still have access to all the good stuff I've purchased. I'd have a hard time running a game from my phone.

Offline App for Windows/Mac Based is a necessity. My son and I both use 2-in-1s, so web-based only will become problematic if we are in areas where connectivity is an issue as well as being able to save battery if we can actually turn off connectivity.

Yep. We need offline support on Windows.

While the option of offline access IS exciting, I have questions regarding the mobile app that I have not seen or seen answer for so far:
will the app also integrate with the forum while the device is connected to wifi or cellular data? Meaning, will it provide for example notifications of subscribed threads or private messages received? Also connected to this, will it have any sort of notification for possible promotions or launch of new material?
Again, apologies if this is not the right thread to ask these questions and thanks in advance for any reply :)

The mobile app will rollout out into beta in multiple phases, similar to what we did for the site.
We currently have no plans to implement the forums into the mobile app - forums on mobile are a notoriously difficult to implement from a user perspective. We're not happy with how our mobile display works on the site on a phone even.
If we see there's feedback contrary to our current plans, we'll certainly listen to that, so let your voice be heard.

Agreed - a forums feature would be very low on my wish list of app features. In fact, it would be adding unnecessary bloat. Keep it focused on the core features.

Kindle Fire support would be nice.
I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE (too)!!!
I was under the impression that this beta was for a mobile app. With that in mind I 2nd this post.
if you do get into a decent phase, use something called testflight, it allows people to beta test apps if they have been given a code for it

When can we expect this? Can't wait!!
There would definitely need to be an iPad AND an Android/Windows option or there will be gnashing of teeth.

I will honestly buy more content once I see an app has been made for this to know I can use it offline and more easily on my mobile device.
Came to the thread hoping for news about this. Disappointed. This is going to be a pretty big deal for me.
Hi BadEye,
Thanks for the update. I'm loving D&D Beyond so far. Great work. Can't wait to see what the future holds!
