I'm not really sure what the use of this is. It's already very obvious which ability is which, after all. They have a handy label, AND a representative animal (more on this at the end though). :P
If anything, I actually find the array of colours distracting as I sweep my eye along the stat line. I'd prefer you just pick one - whether it be black or something brighter - and stick to it for all six.
And if you are going to colour code them, the colours you choose need to stand out from each other more otherwise what was the point? The red and brown are too close, as are the black and grey (the brown is also dull enough that it doesn't stand out that well from the black either). Just off the top of my head: Red for Strength, Yellow for Dexterity, a more vivid Brown than you're currently using for Con, Green for Intelligence, Blue for Wisdom, and Purple for Charisma.
So about those animals - I get most of them, but I'm curious why an eagle represents Charisma? I'd have put the cat there, I think, and used the eagle or another bird for Dexterity.
I have trouble seeing shades, and didn't realize there was more than black, grey, and orange. I haven't played around with it enough to see why they are using the different colors either...but if it is to reference something later with just the color, I'll be lost. As for the animals, those are the animals represented by the old spells, now under the current spell of Enhance Ability. The CHA boost came from Eagle's Splendor.

Ahh. Well on the one hand that's a nice touch, I guess... But on the other, it's pretty meaningless and potentially unintuitive to anyone new to the game who doesn't happen to look at that one particular spell. As an aside, what's so splendorous about an eagle anyway? If you were going to pick a bird to represent charisma, wouldn't a peacock be better? :P

No, because if you were referencing the peacock, it wouldn't be a stat boost but instead would be the spell ability for "Prismatic Spray".
The colours are weird, I assumed that they were to show you that a creature has an abnormally high or interesting stat, that you may have missed at first glance. Such as the Dragons 26 strength in Red. It makes scanning the block less fluid.
Yeah, I have the same issue. I didn't even notice they were different til this post. I think the animals are a fantastic touch. A nice nod to the older spells.

This is also what I thought. That would be a cool thing to have.
I agree that the way the colour is implemented is not the most useful, and at that not very colour-blind friendly, I'm certain. with that said, yes, having colours based on high high to low a stat numbers is would be a lot better for new players, and would better help them get a feel of how strong a particular monster is in a given ability. and as for making it more accessible, there should be a means of turning them off if you can't see the colours properly for one reason or another.

I agree that the colors as implemented now are not helpful and a bit distracting. The only way I could see color coding having some value is if it corresponded to something else. If they had the bonuses added to attack, damage, spells, etc. Color coded to correspond with the stat they were drawn from it could at least help new players understand how those rolls where built. I personally think it still would look a bit distracting, but at least it would have value for someone.

Now that's a thought.
I agree that I would find it more distracting than useful, but at least that would have some merit.

Or simply don't want them.
<---This guy.
As legitimate a reason as any, yeah. But colour coding is not without it's merits, they just need to be smart about it.

Even if they're just to hilight stand out stats, I like the colours as they are. I regularly miss things while scanning stats blocks, the colours draw attention. I find them useful.

I don't like the colors on the stat line, and as it's currently implemented they don't really help anyway.

The animals with the attributes are obviously a reference to the spells that boost the various stats.
I like the different colours of attributes, but I'd like to know what they mean. Perhaps tooltips would help here?

The creatures don't bother me as much as the color. It is distracting and makes the stat block look cheep and weird.
the animals I can live with though since I don't feel like they are interfering with anything

I figured the colors out!
Red-str, black-dex, brown-con, orange-INT, gray-wis, yellow-cha
it very loosely correlates with the animal icon (orange fox)
this is dumb and a distraction.
