I have made a custom weapon - filled out its description etc. It's modelled after a balor's longsword so it uses a longsword as its base but is oversized and requires 18 STR to wield. (I'm OK if I can't build that in it's easy enough to keep track of). I want it to deal an additional 2d6 slashing and 2d6 lightning on a hit as well as an additional 3d6 on a crit. As far as I can tell there is no way to make truly custom (non-reskinned) magic weapons in DDB - am I correct or is there a way?
I have yet to find a way to change the damage die on weapons. Been trying for some time to make a weapon that can do 2d4 damage but because none exist that use that damage profile it cannot be created. You can add on 'Modifiers' but they aren't rolled with the weapon damage other than +1/2/3.
Would be a good feature to have, the current interface is unintuitive.
Should be much easier - to modify predefined items, and to have the stats, damage, resistances, etc. automagically be factored in / natively available. But for some reason it isn't. Huge oversite IMHO.

So I just did this a min. ago. I needed to make a custom Greatsword from a dinosaur tooth. I went into manage custom, entered it as a Custom Action, then filled out the numbers and descriptions. Although it does not read in the system as a sword, I can still tell its a sword.

Only way to do so is to create a custom item just for the inventory (name, weight, price) and then add a custom action to the action tab
under actions you can manage custom and create a custom action for the weapon and then add its counterpart to the equipment

I think it's a legal thing
Not sure I am following, what would be illegal to make a +1 rapier a +2 rapier?
Or even a specific named item have an additional feature?
I don't know how correct it is, nor the legalities behind it, it's just what I've heard. Take it with a grain of salt
I really wish there were a way to do this.
And you can not create an custom infusion weapon with atk and dmg +1.^^
Thanks for the info, I now have everything I need to make my reality bending Control spell Wizard and screw over any campaign my friend comes up with.
