A fun fact about the Strixhaven: School of Mages MtG set:
Normally MtG sets have their creatures be a mix of "race" (human, goblin, elf but also angel, dragon, demon, wolf, spider, mutant etc.) and "class" (warrior, knight, cleric, archer, rogue, wizard etc.) in their creature type.
The Strixhaven set had no non-magic users except for animals or monsters. One warrior (a statue), no rogues, no archers - only things like birdfolk clerics, vampire druids, elf wizards or human warlocks.
This HOPEFULLY bodes well for a book with many new magic spells!
The Silverquill Commander deck does have a Rogue, but it's still a spellcaster. It's a new Strixhaven card, not a reprint.
I think another book will be announced to day by Ellywick Tumblestrum, the James Wyatt's book with the Draconic Options, that I think will be a Faerun Campaign Book.

Since dragons are my favorite thing ever and Faerun is the best fantasy world in history (actually it ties with middle earth), yay!
You guys are making it hard to temper my expectations. I would love nothing more then to have a Draconomicon, especially if it covers dragon Lore from different setting and adds Gem, Catastrophic, and Planar Dragons.

I'm not getting my hopes up for a third unannounced book for this year. Why wasn't it leaked too? Besides, the Feywild book I hoped for turned out to be a real monkey's paw situation (boo clowns!) so now I'm cautious about wanting a Draconomicon because it might turn out to be a Hungry Hungry Hippos or Cabbage Patch Kids crossover product. 😜

Not being host to a corporate accident is an odd argument against somethings existance.

Now thanks to you I have to go stat up some Hungry Hungry Hippos for a one shot.

Pardon, I don't understand what you're saying. Do you think I'm arguing against the existence of a Draconomicon? I thought the emoji on the end made it pretty clear that I was joking about a book I wanted turning into something else with elements I don't want. ???

Just wait until we get a crossover that provides a spellcasting subclass powered by friendship.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

Well, we know there are at least three more books slated for this year because of the blog on WotC’s official site, two of which seem to have been announced. To quote the blog after mentioning Van Richten’s....
“Later in the year, Chris will return with our big summer adventure, James Wyatt will deliver a substantially improved version of a concept that I initiated myself, and Amanda Hamon will close us out with a project that was jointly conceived by herself and several other studio members. As usual, Jeremy Crawford is working with all of our leads, overseeing mechanical content and rules development.”
Some believe that the Summer adventure is “Wild Beyond the Witchlight” and that the book led by Amanda Hamon to be “Curriculum of Chaos”. The reason why some people believe that the middle book could be a Draconomicon is because of the Dragon UA and because James Wyatt has been one of the big authors involved in all of the previous Draconomicon of past editions (at least the 2nd and 3rd editions ones).
@RoughCoronet0, I would love to be wrong. But again, not getting my hopes up until it's announced even though James Wyatt has written books I absolutely adore (3e Draconomicon, 3e Eberron books).

Good insight, thanks. My guess is if there's a Wyatt book still in the pipeline (world trading logistics are still an unstable game, so who knows how that may trickle down into product development and production) it'll be kept under wraps until D&D celebration in July, since there's really no other reason to pay attention to the event since the cat's out of the bag for everything else.

Yeah, I can see how wanting to release a book during their big D&D Live event that would cause a lot of hype would be a potential reason why this third book is being kept secret for a bit longer. It’s something big game companies do like Xbox, Sony and Nintendo. Release some game titles before a major showcase to generate some interest with a little tease of a potential big reveal and then announce that big must have title you teased at the big event to wow and excite people.
Another thing of note though is that while many seem to be clamoring for a Draconomicon book (Myself included) and see these little potential hints as reason enough to believe it’s happening, WotC also said in 2020 that they have plans to release three classic setting books within the next year or two (2021-2022). Van Richten’s was already confirmed to be the first of these three settings. So it’s also very possible that this unannounced book could be the second classic setting they plan to release. A lot of people are already convinced that we are getting a Dragonlance setting book after all.
Regardless, we don’t know what this third book is. All we do know is that there is a third unannounced book coming.
I really wanted a Feywild sourcebook, with it being an adventure I'm going to give it a pass. I already have so many adventures between DMs Guild, 3rd parties, other official published adventures, and my own homebrew, I'm probably never going to get around to running them all.
As for the MtG sourcebook, I can see the appeal for MtG fans, but I left MtG behind 25 years ago. The lore and setting(s) do not hold enough of an interest to me to justify the expense, and I've skipped all of the other MtG sourcebooks so far.
I don't think we'll be seeing a 5th book this year. I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong though. The possibility of a Dragnomicon intrigues me, but not being a fan of Dragonborn in general (I blame growing up on Basic, 1e, & 2e) with what has been published in the UA it is going to be a pass for me unless there is some really enticing additional content.
I realize that I am probably no longer the target audience for WotC (and probably in the minority that feels this way), but as a long-time fan of D&D, the current material that has been coming out leaves me feeling... despondent.
I second . . . almost everything you said. I left competitive MtG a few years ago; for multiple reasons.
When it comes to the Feywild adventure, I have no issues with it; however, the cover and promotional art is giving me a really bad case of deja vu. It reminds me of the Heckna campaign setting released by Hit Point Press last year. In addition, Hit Point Press released another Kickstarter two years ago called Humblewood and the fae races that were released earlier this year; it's like WotC is now relying on third-party material to create their own.
While I was happy to see GGtR, some of the other MtG stuff that has entered D&D just didn't appeal to me; it's not new material to me. Maybe that is why I am a little hesitant on buying more official WotC material lately; there are plenty of third-party companies making their own content and its better.
I am pretty lukewarm on the setting too, but I am positive that I will find things within this book to mine when planning my sessions. I didn't use the Ravnica and Theros books for their settings either, but I used the guilds as models for my own factions, I adapted a few of the precincts for my own city, I stole the Piety system in its entirety for my pantheon, and also used the mythic traits to make a BBEG more dangerous. I have found useful gems in just about every 5e book they published and have every expectation that Strixhaven will be no different.
