Dang. Enervating Breath incapacitates people in a 15 foot cone? Thats kinda insane for 3rd level, even if you can only use it a couple times per long rest

The Drakewarden looks so good!!!! Sucks that it doesn't get an expanded spell list, but w/e. You can mount your drake at 7th level! And it lasts indefinitely!!!
So good!!!!
If I were the person that made the Drakewarden, I would give it the expanded spell list of Absorb Elements, Dragon's Breath, Protection from Energy, Elemental Bane, and Summon Draconic Spirit (UA, 5th level spell).
UA spell aside, the only problem with ones like Dragon's Breath is that it is published in another supplement (XGtE), so it would put forward the expectation that you must buy another book to have access to every spell. Of course, in practice, people can find most any spell on the internet, but from a business standpoint having one supplement rely on another supplement rather than itself or the base books would be unusual for how they have done 5e books so far.

They reprinted Chaos Bolt in Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica and reprinted Wall of Water in Volo's Guide to Monsters. They can reprint just a few spells that fit the draconic theme for a subclass.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
What in the name of Bahamut's Bottom even is a draconian?
I find dragons boring, but, even after some galling rules changes to monsters and my hatred of the First and Worst World idea... I am politely interested in this now. Which is saying something.

Created in order to fill the ranks of the dragonarmies of the Dark Queen Takhisis, the generals of the dragonarmies generally used draconians as shock troops. They are not natural creatures of Krynn. They were created from the eggs of metallic dragons using dark magic called the corruption ritual. These rituals were carried out by Dracart, a wizard of the Black Robes, WyrIlish, a priest of Takhisis, and Harkiel, a dark-hearted red dragon. One egg yielded dozens of young draconians. depending on the color of the dragon egg the draconian can be one of 5 types: Aurak, Baaz, Bozak, Kapak, and Sivak.
What in the name of Bahamut's Bottom even is a draconian?
Golaryn explained it well. They're basically humanoid dragons that predate Dragonborn, and would explode or turn to stone when they died. Also created through the corrupted eggs of metallic dragons (this plot point never made any sense, but it's cool).

I personally love Dragons and the First World. I'm glad that you're more interested in it now, though.

To be honest, I cut and paste from the Dragonlance Wiki so I wouldn't have type all of it myself lol. So credit to where credit is due.
I just don't understand why the First World has to be made by Dragons. Just so many Dragons. Why don't Fiends or Undead get this treatment? Dragons literally only fall into one category: LIZARDS THAT BREATHE STUFF. No variety, and what's worse, they're player-slayers, which is no fun as a DM.
And then I see they get spells (despite stat blocks no longer having non-boring damage spells, instead becoming all utility), and I go "huh. Why does this book get pages worth of spells, but Strixhaven, the magical academy, only gets 5 spells? Dragons steal all the fun."
And then I remember the Mythic trait and I go "Nice! I want undead to get that trait. Dragon's don't need it, they're OP enou..." Bam! Dragons get Mythic actions now.
"What if a dragon went ceramorphosis?" Nope, the Elder Brain thinks they're too cool.
Stop dragon favouritism. And remember, Fizban's (and dragons) gets all the fun stuff.
3rd edition has two Fiendish Codexes and the Libris Mortis, 4th edition had the Demonomicon and Open Grave (and both had a Book of Vile Darkness). I wouldn't discount the possibility there will be 5E sourcebooks for Fiends and Undead in the future too.

I know it is off topic, but I LOVED the Libris Mortis. I still have that some where around here, along with my Complete Book of Necromancers from 2nd edition.
I just don't understand why the First World has to be made by Dragons. Just so many Dragons. Why don't Fiends or Undead get this treatment?
Why is the Creation Myth of Eberron about 3 Godlike Dragon Entities that created the world? I dunno, Dragons are cool, and the game is called "Dungeons and Dragons". Furthermore, it's these are both Creation Myths. The First World being created by Dragons could be a misunderstanding or just plain falsehood.
Dragons literally only fall into one category: LIZARDS THAT BREATHE STUFF. No variety, and what's worse, they're player-slayers, which is no fun as a DM.
Did you read the Table of Contents? There's a ton more than just "flying lizards that breathe stuff". Dragonblood Oozes, Dragonbone Golems, Hoard Mimics, Hoard Scarabs, Aspects of Dragon Gods, Dracohydras, Moonstone Dragons (which don't have a breath weapon, but do have awesome lair actions), Animated Breath (sentient breath weapons, kinda like Living Spells), Draconians, Dragon Servants, Dragon Turtles, Liondrakes, Eyedrakes, Egg Hunters, Sea Serpents, and so on.
If that doesn't count as "variety", I don't know what does.
(Also, "player slayers"? Where did that come from? The rules don't tell you that you have to kill Players with dragons. This book has a ton of information on how to use Dragons as allies, rivals, or patrons. And even if they do go into combat with a dragon, they don't have to kill the players. I've included dozens of dragons and dragon-adjacent monsters in my campaigns' battles, but I don't think a single player character has died from them.)
And then I see they get spells (despite stat blocks no longer having non-boring damage spells, instead becoming all utility), and I go "huh. Why does this book get pages worth of spells, but Strixhaven, the magical academy, only gets 5 spells? Dragons steal all the fun."
I dunno. Take that up with WotC. I like Dragon spells and wish that there were more than just the 7 that are in this book. I'd also like more spells in Strixhaven. Just because one book gets more spells than another doesn't mean that one of them needs to get spells taken away from them, it just means that the other book should just get more spells added to it.
And then I remember the Mythic trait and I go "Nice! I want undead to get that trait. Dragon's don't need it, they're OP enou..." Bam! Dragons get Mythic actions now.
There are undead with the Mythic trait. The only dragons in this book that get Mythic are presumably the Dragon Gods and Great Wyrm Dragons. You don't have to include those if you don't want them.
"What if a dragon went ceramorphosis?" Nope, the Elder Brain thinks they're too cool.
That was a thing in previous editions. I don't understand your compliant here. Elder Brain Dragons are freaking awesome and terrifying.
Stop dragon favouritism. And remember, Fizban's (and dragons) gets all the fun stuff.
Again, this is "Dungeons and Dragons". Dragon favoritism is built into the core of the game's identity. (Also, there is plenty of fun stuff in the game that isn't draconic. Like, the vast majority of fun stuff in the game aren't draconic.)

I'd say it's topic-adjacent at least. WotC has evidently decided to publish a dragon book, we can speculate if this will be followed up with other books about specific types of critters. ;-)
Also, same! The Libris Mortis rocks.

I would definitely buy a 5e version of the Libris Mortis, but I am afraid the Ravenloft book might be as close as we get, but we can hope and dream.
Edit: It could be called Vecna's Tome of Undead Secrets

They could have also reprinted it like they did with Wall of Water and other material, but eh. That's neither here nor there.
They reprinted Chaos Bolt in Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica and reprinted Wall of Water in Volo's Guide to Monsters. They can reprint just a few spells that fit the draconic theme for a subclass.

I wonder why they deviated away from the traditional Draconian races in favor of things like Dreadnaught and Foot Soldier.

Or I'm flipping some tables, again. I was missing some hardware and Wayfair refunded me the whole item so I got some credit to burn.
