I am interested in buying the Master Tier Subscription for D&D Beyond, but I wanted to get a couple of questions answered before I make a final decision.
If you are in a campaign with content sharing enabled, can all players make unlimited characters outside of the campaign? or are they limited to the max of 12 for that campaign?
As long as the "share-content" is available, can anybody with any sourcebook create characters with characteristics from any of the shared content whether or not they are the holder of the Master Tier Subscription or just a non-subscriber?
Can you use characters made inside the campaign outside of the campaign? Like if I were to create a character within the campaign with shared content, can I use it for a game/one-shot that has nothing to do with the campaign and still be able to view all of that character's stats and abilities?

1: No, free tier users can only make and progress 6 characters. The max of 12 characters per campaign is a campaign limit, but the individual limits on each person still apply.
2: Provided the character they are creating is in the campaign with the shared content, yes.
3: As long as the character itself is in the campaign with the shared content, D&D Beyond doesn't care how you play it. Whoever the campaign owner is will have visibility on all characters inside that campaign.
1. They will be limited to the number on their account. They will also need a subscription (only hero teir) to make more than 6 and keep them. However, for any content they don't own they will have to make them in the campaign. The 12 player limit is the number of accounts/players who can join that you can share that content with. I'm not sure the limit on number of characters each of those players can make but it is quite a few. One of my campaigns has 26 characters and only 2 players with hero subs for example. A lot of them are for other games we play or just characters they made for fun.
2. Everyone gets access to the content of everyone else in a campaign that has shared content on regardless of subscription. Even if the master tier subscriber has no content and other people do it will be shared.
3. The campaigns are closer to an organizational tool at this time it doesn't matter what campaign your actually playing. With content they don't own they will have to build it with a character in the campaign. They can leave the campaign but any changes to their character after leaving would only have the options they own. They can view their own character sheets at all times regardless of campaign.
Also to note everyone in the campaign will be able to read the books and content outside the campaign from the drop down menus but won't have access to it in the character builder unless they join the campaign with that character or create a new character in the campaign.

The person who enabled content sharing can turn off any books they don't want others to have access to read, but they cannot turn off any of the options in the character builder.

Actually, I think it is the DM who can turn off sharing access.

So it is! I'm always the DM, so I had never checked it from that POV until now. Thanks! :)
