So DND beyond does a great job of offering both DM and Player Versions of many maps in many modules. However, I have had a lot of difficulties uploading the Maps into a VTT and getting the default grid to match the VTT grid.
Does anyone know if DND beyond has a standard Resolution for the maps? I'm not talking like 96dpi, I'm talking about how many pixels are in a 1x1 square on the map? is there a standard?
I think when I was using some of the maps that 75 pixels per 5 ft square was about the correct ratio (although some maps were 75 pixels per 10 ft square).
But definitely a lot of them were not regularly gridded - WOTC don't seem to care to provide good maps for VTTs.
Sometimes you can find much better detailed maps for a published campaign by using your favourite search engine rather than the maps provided in the modules.
There isn't a set number of pixels per square in a grid in the battlemaps WotC provides. In fact the squares in one grid will often vary in size by 1 or 2 pixels, which is extremely annoying when you're trying to turn a 10ft by 10ft grid into a 5ft by 5ft one.

The maps are as provided by WOTC.

But if i download the map as a JPEG and physically draw a box in MS paint it comes out closer to 144x144.
Some VTTs are more helpful than others in providing tools that help you set up the grid accurately.
Foundry VTT gives a nice tool that allows you to use your mouse and arrow keys to adjust the map visually until the grid aligns correctly.
