I want to write a Halloween One-Shot for some friends to play this Autumn, and want to compile a list of Monsters that would be good in a HalloweenAdventure.
Now, I know that there are a TON of Monsters in published materials, but I'm sure that the Community can add some fun ideas :)
I could add Devils or Demons, and there are a LOT to pick from (like the Shadow Demon).
What else would be fun or interesting?
Cheers!

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
My go-to for horror monsters are always the Sorrowsworn. The Bagman is another one that isn't exactly a stat block but is great fun for a creepy atmospheric encounter.

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?

VanZoeren,
Thank you for the suggestions :) I was not familiar with the Sorrowsworn, so I looked them up and really like them as monsters, but I think for a One-Shot, they might be a bit too strong.
I am not familiar with the Bagman, and could not find him on DDB or in my books, what sourcebook is he from?

I was planning to throw some Mimics in, but disguised as a bag of candy is great idea!!! :)

Snakes, toads, insects, and creepy crawlies are also good fits. As are Blights of your wanna go that "in the woods" horror. And don't forget gargoyles!
If you wanna go for a 50's scifi-horror vibe you can throw in Oozes, various plants like Corpse Flowers and Bodytaker plants, the Brain in a Jar, Ultroloth (since they look like Grey aliens).
Almost any aberration can work if you wanna go Lovecraftian.
Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft really has a great variety, and if you want Spooky, I suggest looking it up.

From Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft. From memory, it’s a suggestion of how the Troll stat block can quite easily be adapted into a rather creepy monster.
Yeah, the Bagman isn't meant to be a statblock or monster so much as it is a spooky legend - at least, in writing. The blurb in VRGtR about it is really fun and flavorful, and I've wanted to run a one shot surrounding this dude for a long time.

Hjalmar Gunderson, Vuman Alchemist Plague Doctor in a HB Campaign, Post Netherese Invasion Cormyr (lvl20 retired) Godfrey, Autognome Butler in Ghosts of Saltmarsh into Spelljammer Grímr Skeggisson, Goliath Rune Knight in Rime of the Frostmaiden DM of two HB campaigns set in the same world.
Mix some monsters together that have traits such as false appearance. I ran one shot involving a mimic colony that had an elder brain beneath it that wiped the players' minds clean after every encounter, so they would take damage and not know what's happening. I also made it so that the entire town they were in was actually just mimics impersonating houses, the people were doppelgangers, and mind flayers were running everything behind the scenes, taking the kidnapped people and turning them into more mind flayers. Eventually, the players caught on and had to fight the literal entire town. Just everything; the roads, the wagons, the houses, the trees, the people. It also didn't help that mind flayers kept blasting them. Rugs would randomly fly out and strangle them, swords would try cutting them up, armor would attack them.

Living Doll and Boggle (a good proxy for a boogey man)

I always loved the thought of sentient dolls. Similar to what they did in NADDPOD
You want scary?

They barely survived. And they were level 20s.
