We are starting a new club at our Middle School and had some questions about the functionality of the Educator's Licence. Both myself and the other teacher mentor have DndBeyond already, so should we attach the license to one of our existing accounts or create a new account for the school? I know what books are offered in the license, but are the campaign/sharing limits the same? Do all of our players (who would be minors) need their own accounts to attach to the campaign (assuming yes)? If we do attach the license to our personal accounts, do our current campaigns/content shares limit the number of school campaigns & shares we can have?
I'm just trying to determine the best route forward to use the tool. We also have the physical kit, which is awesome, but we'll likely have kids who will get a better experience having Beyond capability.
Keep in mind that anything you do/produce in an official capacity- including sponsoring clubs- is owned by the school system not by yourself (or the kids technically). For that reason alone I would create a separate school account and have things linked to it not to any personal accounts.
This is the kind of question to email to WotC support. The moderators here are great, but they don’t check every thread, and I don’t think they’re really the best to weigh in on this. And other than the moderators, no one from WotC comments in any kind of known, official capacity.
I think DDB would really benefit the Educator License program if they set up a subforum for users using the Educator's License, I imagine those educators would value it. There's likely a right way or at least best practices for an educator using the Educator Program, relying on a community with no experience of that community is a hazard (I've only seen I think one poster ever speak to the Educator License program from experience).
